Iron Wind Metals at Gen Con 2017 announcement (http://ironwindmetals.com/index.php/13-battletech/74-new-releases-con-specials-at-gencon-2017)
The link above is the announcement thread that has what all we will have at Gen Con and a image of the LE Enforcer III ENF-7D. There is also a link to the download folder for the Battletech Alpha List PDF files.
Now you will notice that we are only listing one new Con Special Lance pack not two like I mentioned before. I just found out today that the Cougar and Centurion D will not make it in time to be produced before Gen Con. The CAD work has been done for some time, they just got held up after that process. So we will just have the 3150 Federated Suns Lance Pack.
NOTE: Main announcement post linked above has been updated with link to the images
-
I will post more pictures once I have them in my hands to assemble. Should have them on Saturday.
-
Speck ... have mercy. What does the Marauder 7D/9D look like? :o
-
Speck ... have mercy. What does the Marauder 7D/9D look like? :o
Owe that is nice, same for the 9W2 in the lance pack. Joel did a excellent job on them, its not your normal Project Phoenix Marauder :). I will not have the Marauders and Templars III until mid next week.
-
the MAD-7D was one of the variants to get alt art in the back of TRO:PP

If this isn't true, I will track you down, and castigate you, while removing your perogatives. :)
Classic would be wonderful, but I'm not expecting that. A good new Marauder will make me happy, and make me give IWM more money O0

Definitely not the classic, but a new project Phoenix Marauder yes.

To add to the hype, this was my reaction upon seeing the finished project for QC:

Darn you and your taunting!
-
Wow. I don't recall seeing that MAD. I like that.
-
Damn, and I was ready to buy a Star of Cougars outright. :(
-
Holy crap that's a stacked list of new miniatures! I am excited to see these. I wish I could go to Gencon and see them in person (and no doubt purchase many)
-
Me too. I will just have to wait until they're all available at the store :( However, once that happens... ::)
-
Add in my vote to see the MAD-7D . . . as someone who left the TRO PP mechs sitting in blisters after opening a few and seeing all the parts . . . yeah.
-
[drool] woot !!! I'm going to be so broke after the online exclusive minis are released.
-
Nice list. I don't recongnize the ON1-H, what TRO is it from?
-
It's from TRO:Primitives V
-
Ha, the TRO I don't have yet. :-[
Strangely, it's not on Sarna. Guess it's too early to post.
-
Marauder Battlesuits!
Can we please get a size comparison picture of this soon, please? I need to know if I need to order five suits per squad, or if it's big enough that I'll only be able to fit one per base.
-

I think no one has gotten to editing the page. Primitives V is eleven months old
-
As soon as the primitive Orion and Archer hit the store, I will be able to make order and build that primitive force.
-
Everything looks good. That Enforce III 7D mini makes it design look better than the picture from XTRO Republic III!
I've cooled down on buying minis, but i'm tempted to get couple of theses.

Similar to Warg but squatter. It fits on a battleforce hex base. I have a image of it taken for the store I can try and get up.
-
Can't wait for you guys to see these!

You should just assume you can fit five suits on each base. If you're wrong, the extra suits are like bonus squads. ;)
(this was how I bought ironholds)
Though I also want a size comparison. Gotta figure out how to set up a squad of marauders riding a marauder.
-
I like the PP Marauder designs (although the minis themselves can have disturbingly skinny legs... 😁).
I'm very interested to see this new version!

Is it physically possible to fit five on a standard base, or one a mm or two bigger?
-
The ON1-H Orion is what I hoping to see first/soon.
-
...Centurion D will not make it in time to be produced before Gen Con...

No-more skinny legs.

Any change to the look of the cockpit?
-
Thank you for the update on what is going to be at Gencon.
-
@ Speck
Just to be clear does this mean the 3rd quarter releases will be at Gen Con?
-
I cannot find the MAD picture that was supposed to be up? Might just be the 504/502 problems
-
Speck mentioned "next week", last week. It's only just 'next week' down here. I imagine it'll be up by Friday.
-
Sorry I thought he said it would be up Saturday . . . on Thursday.
-
Interestingly, the picture of the Enforcer mini makes me like it more than I expected to.
-
Desire to know more intensifies

All new.

Yes
Sorry I thought he said it would be up Saturday . . . on Thursday.
I said on Thursday that they shipped me most of the new stuff except the Templar III and Marauder that went out yesterday. I will be taking pictures later this week after all are assembled.
Desire to know more intensifies
That's good :)

When will then become now?

Awesome Speck, I forsee my Btech fund taking a big hit soon [drool]
-

Soon. 8)
-
can't wait to see the Wolverines
-
Should have images up on the IWM website tomorrow evening. Finishing up the Marauders and Templar III variants tonight. :)
-
You tease!

Go easy on him - at least he's working on getting you pics. Unlike me, who can sit back and say I've already handled them... without making any move to share. >:D

I will just leave this here...

Da MADs... {>{>
...Murphy's Cheese, how wide is the MAD BA?!?
-
The Uziel looks like an Uziel!! Those Marauders are sharp looking too. Everything there looks really nice. Well done!
-
Everything looks great. Thank you for the pics.
-
A question: Does the Marauder have two or three dorsal gun options? Or is that one exclusive the GenCon pack?
Also, do you have a side-profile pic of the Marauder? Just out of curiosity.
-
Speck,
Are the Anubis's feet attached to the base?
-
The quality is there. Especially the Uzielle is already bought, but what about the Marauders? Is this due to the HG lawsuit? Is the retconned Marauder already in the bin? Please tell me I´m wrong :-[ :-[ :-[
Edit: Is this a retconned Wolverine or a primitive Variant? I lost track of these a long time ago.
-
Which marauder? The project phoenix variant or the marauder battlesuit? Both existed before the lawsuit or the creation of the current crop of "classics".
The Wolverine is the primitive variant.
-
As to the images, my only complaint is that that marauder battlesuit looks like it'd be too large for me to kitbash a squad of them riding a Marauder battlemech. :P
-
Which base is used with the Mad BA?
-

Liam's right. The mech is a Project Phoenix, and the other is a battlesuit unrelated except by name. Both have absolutely zero effect on any suits, and are not cause for any worry.
-

I do not have a measurement on it, but is on a Battleforce Hex base.

The Marauder 9W2 is in the Lance pack and then there is another blister that is the Marauder 7D/9D.
No to a side profile pic.
Which base is used with the Mad BA?
Battleforce Hex Base, smaller then normal hex base.
-

Thank you. Then I will wait for my beauty.

Because the legal action that will resolve this mess one way or another isn't set to begin until late next year.
-
Alright . . . the Marauder . . . well, the arms do not look like the art for the -7D. The gun pods on those arms are great for the original and some of the other models however. I do like that the legs are not as stork-ish and the length of the body has shrunk a bit, the cockpit does not project as much.
So the Lance Pack info disappeared off the release page- I know it has a Uziel, Marauder 9W2 and a Enforcer but what is the other design.
-
I give you inspirational art:
-
What book is that from?
The Anubis and Avalanche look fantastic. I might have to pick up multiple Anubis just to torment Hellbie.
Are the arms for the Wendigo and Avalanche interchangeable like the MW:DA versions?

Oh, I know that one . . . and I think its a nice image . . . but that is a -9S . . .
The -7D is
(http://cfw.sarna.net/wiki/images/5/55/Mad-7d_marauder.png?timestamp=20110121211954)
and the -9W2 arms are even more bizzare-

I have no idea how big a Battleforce base is. Got any measurements for that? :)
-

11/16" inside diameter flat to flat 12/16" inside diameter corner to corner
-
Dice on a Nonproverbial Schtick, that's bigger than many light mechs! :o
-
To all the sculptors involved: nice work everyone! ;D Gonna have to make a MW4 lance with the Uziel at the head of it :)
Thank you. Then I will wait for my beauty.
Domi1981: is that your Marauder? Either way, beautiful machine there O0
(I miss the thumbs up :'( )
-
What book is that from?
HB:HL, in the colour section.
Oh, I know that one . . . and I think its a nice image . . . but that is a -9S . . .
Actually, it's a -5L.
If you don't like it, don't buy it. That's cool. Nothing is going to please everyone. We had an opening to try to do something cool with a small opportunity when other plans went to crap, so we did.
-
Oh, I LIKE it better than my 9S, fixes the stork legs and other things . . . but I was interested in seeing the different style weapons pods for the -7D, the tri-vaned ERLL arms. The body & legs are spot in . . . lol, and I have a good idea where those arms REALLY come from . . .
-
Just use the tri-arms anyway. Unless there's a really big difference in how they connect, it'll be a quick swap. And if there is a really big difference, I'll be a bit of cutting and a slightly less quick swap.
-
Any chance of seeing how big the Primitive Wolvie is to the Wolverine II and phoenix Wolvie?
-
Wow, very impressed by the new Marauder resculpt. 😍 I'll need 2 eventually... just need $ first! 😂
-
How many pieces is the Orion?
-
Speck, are the legs of the Anubis attached to the base?
-

Yes
How many pieces is the Orion?
4 to 6 I can't remember right now.
-
How many pieces is the Orion?
Just checked the QCC, here is the breakdown:
Torso
Arm x2
Crotch w/both legs
Base
Antenna
-
How many pieces are the new Marauders?
Hoping for one piece arms.
-
Very nice new sculpts! I'm getting some serious Mechwarrior 4 Nolstalgia, especially for the Uziel!
-

Essentially the same as the -5R/-9S, plus whatever was needed to make each variant. Consider the -5L a lesson learned.

thats because it is the mechwarrior 4 model :)
i restored the MW4 uziel cinematic model to work in miniature form :)

Thank you!
So where do I go to order and Orion?
-
With 6 new classics in plastic will any of those 6 be IWM releases in the future? I know you can't give specifics so a yes or no is fine if you please :P
-
Thank you!
So where do I go to order and Orion?
Will be up on IWM online store after gen con.
-
I look forward to funding a good chunk of the Von Rohrs to get this new stuff
-
Will be up on IWM online store after gen con.
So in about 4 doys or so...
Thanks speck.
-
He said after GenCon. He didn't say immediately after GenCon.
-
I just contacted my gamestory and they said that they have no prices for the Wolverine. Anything on that?
-

It was fan financed, which means it is a web only release, which will be for sale after gencon.
-

It is $13.50 at the IWM booth at GC! O0
-
Yup, my friend picked up two . . . now its time to make a Wolverine 7M for my 4th Regulan Hussars. The pictures of the minis in the case he provided were nice looks. I want to see the Marauder my friend picks up to judge how it looks next to the -9S.
-
In case it gets lost in the thread in the general forum, I did get some pics of the display case at IWMs booth. Not the best quality camera work, but I think you can at least see all the new stuff assembled. The album has some other BT stuff in there as well, but the IWM stuff is pretty obvious. Here is a link to the pics:

Hui! With name tags. Neat.
EDIT: OMG! Is this what I think it is?! Are these the mechs for the new starter box?! Battlemaster? Thunderbolt? YES?! Please say yes!

Really looking forward to the box set, I want it for the catapult alone!! Hopefully It will show up in a lance set for Alpha Strike.
-
I don't remember hearing about any new lance packs in the video that was posted... did anyone ask about it at GenCon?
-
Yes, those are some of the mechs for the new starterbox and 'game of armored combat' box. There was no mention of new lance packs (or star packs) from anyone I talked to. They are not the absolute final versions, but pretty darn close.
Glad I could get some pictures out there for the folks who aren't able to get to GenCon.
I did NOT get a picture of the marik-painted plasic Thunderbolt mini though. I think they got Dave Fanjoy to paint it at the con, and put it in the case on Saturday. I did see it though, and it was pretty. I still really like IWM's primitive Thud sculpt, but this new plastic one is also a great sculpt.
-
Yeah.. need to get around to ordering some. Can't wait to see those 6 classics in metal as well as plastic. If we are lucky maybe we can see the other 12 by then as well. At least we can hope everything is settled by then.
-
So I just got my pair of Wolverines delivered into my hands . . . and I am having flashbacks to TROPP stuff. Lots of small bits and some places where the metal is REALLY thin. I thought we were over the little tiny flaps of metal for metal's sake. Hopefully its just that one, but I am also going to have to examine the picture as I put it together.
-

Maybe I should finally start selling German glue in America ::) ;)

You are referring to the primitive wolverine?

Yes

Review the fan funding thread for the Primitive Wolverine, there's a sort of assembly diagram there. There's also an explanation (and apology) for the higher than average part count. The thin spots were a learning experience (it's my first mini). Hope you'll still be pleased when it's finished. :)

Both new Wolverine minis are mechs I will buy both. Usually its that I want a mech but the primitive version just looks better so I use it as proxy. Not in this case, bot Wolvs look awesome. And please continue to offer us as many small parts as you like.
-
Yeah, you knocked the Primitive Wolverine outta the park, Dak!! Looking forward to scoring a few copies. 8)
-
Well, I am not sure if it was sculpt or production, because thin spots were leg connections and where the slot was for hip panels. Not enthused for the notepads, but I will check against the other is I bought.
One detail I noticed was the legs were rather locked in against hip piece?
-
To visually compare the Wolverines-
http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=58510.0 (http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=58510.0)
Dak, while I may have commented on the thinness of the metal- I have not opened the other- and part count, I can say that it looks real nice next to the old Unseen -6R. The dimensions are almost spot on for each comparable portion, legs MIGHT be a bit thicker but that is better than the stick figure it was in TRO PP.
So as the 3D modeler . . . I am wanting to make my 2nd WVR a -7M . . . I have 4 extra arms from a MAD-4X that I made -9M2 and a -2R, so it has double laser barrels for the 2 ERLL. I am thinking of just cutting off the shoulder to elbow portion for the weapon and a MWDA SRM6 pack to make it look a bit different visually. What might you sub for the 2 ERLL on that right arm?
-
So is the Orion available for purchase?
The Archer as well?
Not seeing them listed on the site so maybe I'm doing something wrong?

Do you mean THIS beauty, that was indeed painted by Mr. Fanjoy. 8)
I tried to convince Brent on Sunday afternoon that they didn't need to bother taking the ugly thing home with them from the Con and that I'd be happy to take it off their hands, but he wouldn't listen to me. The big meanie. :'(
;D
And NO I don't really think it's "ugly", by ANY means.
-
I got these pics of the T-Bolt before he finished it. 8)
I've got a few close-ups, but without using the flash, so they're a bit darker. Because of that, I figured these would be better to post. :-\
-
Can't wait to see that on the store and on the local store shelf ;D

Battletech at a FLGS??? Not anymore in Detroit.

Amen to that...

Forgive that question but does that mean that we won´t see the Battlemaster and Thud till the end of the HG trials? I just wonder because all I know of is that the Marauder, Locust and Archer were in their legal claim. Haven´t seen anything about the Battlemaster and Thunderbolt.
-

You, more than likely, wont see them in metal until after the new Game of Armored Combat box from CGL has been released. That box set will have those two mechs in Plastic in it. IWM, it seems, is being a good sport by allowing CGL to release those mechs first in plastic with their new box sets before releasing them in metal. I can't say how long they will wait after the box set has been released to put out metal versions, but I would guess somewhere between a month and six months.
-
Are there any info on those box available? Mechs, price, date, or looks?
-
You are going to have to ask in a Catalyst forum. IWM only releases the classics when Catalyst gives the go ahead.
-
Are there any info on those box available? Mechs, price, date, or looks?
Yes. If you look at the bottom of page 1 in this thread you can see some pictures:
http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=58343.0
And I have some in my gallery from GenCon as well:
https://1drv.ms/a/s!ApDHaN8p702HggEGRapqSdSGz30Y
I didn't get any pictures of the ones that were hastily painted at the con, but I know GRUD got some of the Thunderbolt at least:
http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=58264.msg1347561#msg1347561
CGL also had a post up on their site with stuff they were bringing to GenCon that had mockups of the boxes pictured. All the pictures of the mini's came from the Con. The list of mechs was confirmed in the new releases thread:
http://bg.battletech.com/forums/index.php?topic=58071.msg1344061#msg1344061
but to save you the trouble, here is what is slated for the GoAC box:
Battlemaster
Awesome
Thunderbolt
Catapult
Shadow hawk
Wolverine
Locust
Commando
and the Intro box is supposed to have the Wolverine and Griffin.
-
The big unknown is the price, but the rest is pretty much set it looks like.
As for the classics in metal, all we know from CGL is IWM will be able to release after the boxes are out but that will greatly depend on when IWM has them scheduled as well.
-

and the Intro box is supposed to have the Wolverine and Griffin.
Wow, thank you very much. I said it a few months ago that CGL would release the new starter box with the release of HBS Battletech for PC. I knew it O0
ANd that Catapult is such a surprise. I never would´ve thought that they would come up with a decent design. ANd now look at this beauty. I hope all the old Loose designs get redesigned like that.
But I have one further question: aren´t plastic minis a worse choice for people who want to paint their minis? I mean whenever I mess up a mini I throw it into turpentine and restart my painting process. Plastic would melt or at least would get damaged, right. Furthermore paint sticks better on metall minis. Sure you can paint on plastic but you have to work with rubbing alcohol to get every spot of grease cleaned off the surface. Plus plastic feels flimsy. I´m not complaining just rummaging wether I should buy the starter box or wait for the metal ones.

iirc the new Catapult design also got new art. Same with the Commando and Awesome I believe. I hope the rest of the 3025 machines eventually see the same treatment eventually.

I need pictures! My brain is spoiled from all the internets #P

If you use pine-sol instead of turpentine, plastics clean up just as easily add metal, and don't melt unless you leave them in for a VERY long time. And once you prime them, they paint exactly the same. If you're concerned about the heft, I like to fill any hollow spaces in the bottom with sand, then seal it with superglue. Makes them very stable. :)

There are pictures all over this forum, mostly in GenCon and What's New threads.

Nah, I meant about the Catapult. I haven´t seen any new art about that. Or is it in some TRO?

We have not seen the new Awesome & Commando afaik . . . but look to MWO, I think it will be close to that set of images.
I am guessing you did not buy any of the lance packs, b/c this plastic is supposed to be better than that set of plastics. Those plastics paint up so well that if you do not look at the base or lift them up you can hardly tell the different from the Ral Patha/IWM sculpts. Lol, if they ARE based, only way to tell is to lift them up where the weight comes into play.
-
I haven't had any trouble painting up the plastics from the lance packs or the last box set. Of course, I have not tried to strip any of the ones I've painted, so I couldn't tell you how well they clean up.
-
They clean up well using Simple Green or whatever that cleaner is. IMO the stuff works better than PinSol. Better yet, doesn't eat your hands like PinSol either.
-
Yeah, I used Simple Green to clean off a Cat & Victor as well as my experimental Cyclops.

The big unknown is the price, but the rest is pretty much set it looks like.
The maps aren't Exactly what will be in the finished product either.
