Miniature of the Fortnight #64: Hatchetman
« on: 11 March 2019, 21:39:14 »
The Hatchetman is another 'Mech that comes from the glory days of Technical Readout: 3025.  The first 'Mech with a built-in club made to look like a cooler weapon, it started a new trend that eventually ran from the effective to the absurd (like, for example, the Violator).  But that's all in the future.  To learn more about this venerable 'Mech, see its 'Mech of the Week article.

Like with many BattleMechs from TRO 3025, the Hatchetman has had multiple sculpts:
  • The original sculpt released by Ral Partha (20-864).
  • The Beginners Set sculpt, based on the original sculpt (currently available in IWM's Quick Start Lance Pack, 10-044).
  • The resculpt currently available from IWM (20-864).
  • The limited edition jumping sculpt from 2009 and not currently available.
  • The sculpt for the Austen variant from the Sword and Dragon Starterbook (part of 10-033).
  • The sculpt for the HCT-7S version from TRO: 3085 (20-357).
  • And, finally, the plastic sculpt from CGL's Battle Lance Pack, based on the Beginners Set sculpt.
If you have any of these painted, we'd love to see them!

Thank you for reading!  And a special thank you to those of you who will post this fortnight!

Our next two Miniatures of the Fortnight will be:
  • Clan (3/25): Wolverine IIC Conjurer (Hellhound)
  • Inner Sphere (4/8): Charger

While I do have some of those, I will add one more to your list: My travel pack Micro-Mech.  Meant to be map scale.

Sadly, I don't have a runway shot of this one. (I'll have to remedy that.)

It's with friends. Far upper right corner.

Two for me, one resculpt (no faction) and one plastic from the my Illician Lancer battalion.  Both are 3F models.

An old paintjob for the Donegal Guards.
And in the background of a lance shot a limited edition Hatchetman for the Robinson Rangers.
