Zanbato Support Tank.
« on: 07 May 2014, 18:33:40 »
I created this beast to be an anchor for C3 Armor lances and companies, particularly if Crow VTOLs are involved for spotting duties.  the idea was to be cheaper then a Schiltron and better suited for closer range duty

I'd rather have an ERLL than the LPPCs. short range 7 is a great benefit with C3.

the Light PPCs were chosen to match the range (practically) of the ER large laser and not require the boatload of additional heat sinks that would eat into other equipment.  as this vehicle is not suppoused to be a criplling force on it's own, the moderate lack of hitting power was thought to be an acceptable compromise.

A C3 Master is not meant to get into 7 hexes either.  this is a coordination unit not a spotter.

You're missing the point. You want the spotter to be at 7 hexes - outside enemy ECM - giving the fire units short range with range 7+ weapons. I.e. with an ERLL you'll be at short range every time your spotter can place himself right, with LPPCs you'll only ever be at short range if the enemy completely lacks ECM (or moves like idiot...).

If the Light PPCs were Primary weapons I might agree, but the MMLs are where the firepower is, the light PPCs support the Missiles and provide some longevity.  two other tanks in the lance are meant to provide heavier hole punching at longer range.
