the loss of torso twisting
Don't get me started on making a previously Level 3 rule created to implement another Level 3 rule being made a standard rule while the rule it implements is still advanced and the mech designs/art still imply torso twisting is absolutely a capability within the game mechanics through various means....  :cussing:

I voted for Yori, Julian, and Danai.  No specific order.  They've all had a hell of a decade, and I'm curious to read more about all three.

Strategic Combat / Re: Spheroid dropships landing damage in SBF

You may be reading without noticing the 'otherwise'.  Aerodyne dropships and small craft require a runway while non-aerodyne Dropships do not.  They can both land on paved but on any other type of terrain spheroid craft will cause terrain damage and also take damage.  Here it is one more time:

On page 182 of Airship and Spheroid Landing: Airships require a landing area that is comprised of either clear,
paved terrain or a hex predesignated as having an active runway. All
other spheroid aerospace Squadrons may land upon virtually any
terrain of uniform elevation—including clear, paved, woods, jungle,
or even urban hexes. However, the act of landing in upon any terrain
other than paved will cause terrain damage, and may result in damage
to the landing Squadron as well.

The Stranger (2023) Aussie movie about an undercover cop trying to gather evidence against a possible child murderer. I was expecting a pulse pounding procedural, but I got instead was a slow as heck buddy movie. Theres some really long scenes where nothing happens. Everything is muted and shot in long shadows. Boring. Rating 4/10

I watched about 3 episodes of The Gentlemen before I gave up. If youve seen one Guy Ritchie show youve seen them all. The whole thing was moderately predictable in which somebody always screws up or there was some kind of reversal to their schemes so the episode could be prolonged. Even the plot was lifted off that Matthew McCaunaghey movie.

Now I've switched to Shogun, and its drawing me in. First episode is intriguing, very different from the Richard Chamberlain version.
chambarlain was a classics made into coloring for kids version still it kept the core of the book
speaking of chambrlain loved his version f count of monte cristo 1975....and tony curtis adds that special spice

And I'm betting that it's just one part of selling the Ilclan/Third Star League to everyone.

I'm going to review the rules before I comment further.  For SBF I had presumed Engagement Control Rolls are part of all engagement processes, at the beginning of one and at the end of the turn.

That's one of the 2765s, yep.

To be fair merchandizing of Clan items isn't a new thing. The Recguide for the Peregrine mentions a small "chibi" plush model of the Peregrine called Uhu which regularly shows up in Mech cockpits and other places. Which isn't the only one in the series but it seems one of the more popular items.

Perhaps I was a bit unclear when I mean "entertainment-starved" but from what I read it seems more that even Clan entertainment caters to the education and indoctrination rather then "pure" entertainment. Perhaps something more akin to arcades or virtual worlds which (from what I found mind you) seem to be rather absent from Clan worlds (though might exist in their OZ's). Remember, Chandrasekar Kurita began dealing with the Clans and he didn't sell them high tech items but rather consumer electronica, toys and other consumables. Stuff that was rare among the Clans.

Hitting a sweet spot between education, indoctrination and entertainment is not that hard

Clan entertainment industry has been in business in the Inner Sphere for a century now, they would have gradually evolved and adapted to new environment without issues, they had more than plenty of time

As for consumer items it's less about availability and more about novelty

Clans have consumer electronics, toys and all other other stuff one might want but variety would on the lower end, different products from different manufacturers will always be interesting to people

Take a kid from the usual toy store to a new one with completely different toys and watch it go bananas

As for videogames they would have plenty of them available at home (game consoles, computers or online games) but arcade cabinets would be something completely new and a popular import item, you are spot on there

Give this a read:  The major issue we see is not doing the reboots and not doing Step 6.
