What is your top 5 films by John Carpenter..

Did a re-watch of both The Thing, and Big trouble in Little china, and i wondered, How many more films has John Carpenter made/had made?  Wow its 30!!  Many i've seen, some i've not even heard of..

So of his list (see below), what are your top five?

1969 - Captain Voyeur
1970 - Resurrection of Broncho Bily
1973 - Last foxtrot in Burbank
1974 - Dark star
1976 - Assault on princinct 13
1978 - Eyes of laura mars.  Halloween
1980 - The Fog
1981 - Escape from new york, Haloween II
1982 - The Thing, Halloween III
1983 - Christine (With King)
1984 - The Philadelphia Experiment, Starman
1986 - Black moon rising, Big trouble in little china,
1987 - Prince of darkness
1988 - They live
1992 - Memoirs of an invisible man
1994 - In the mouth of madness
1995 - Village of the damned
1996 - Escape from LA
1998 - Vampires
2001 - Ghosts of mars
2002 - Vampires, Los Mureotos.
2005 - the fog (remake)
2010 - The Ward
2018 - Halloween (remake)

For me..  I have to go with Starman, Big trouble in little china, Village of the damned, The Thing and Memoirs of an invisible man..

I don't think I've actually seen five of his movies, but I have to say Big Trouble in Little China is one of my favorite movies overall!  :thumbsup:

Escape From...duology (as was said, have to be watched as a double feature...only wish Escape From Earth had been made)

They Live, Philadelphia Experiment, Escape from NY and Big Trouble in Little China. I don't do horror movies and have never watched any of the Halloween. I did see The Fog (original) and thought it one of the worst movies I have ever seen.

Big Trouble in Little China, They Live, The Thing, and Escape From New York are the only John Carpenter movies I've seen.

Starman was a surprise from the list . . .

Not a fan of horror so most of it never appealed but . . .

Escape from NY
Escape from LA
Vampires (LOVE James Woods in the movie)
Starman
Vampires, Los Muertos

Which coincidentally are the only 5 I have seen . . . unless you want to count the remake of Assault on Precinct 13.

I remember staying awake lat at night as a kid to catch They Live. Couple of years later Duke Nukem 3D came out, and none of my classmates where the ''chew bubble guma and kick ass'' came from.

The Thing (I love how "small" and claustrophobic this movie is)
Dark Star (the song is so good..!)
In the Mouth of Madness (love the looping bicycle and all the Lovecraft tropes)
Big Trouble in Little China (the anticlimactic finale is perfect)
