Design three things:
a Tank
a VTOL
another combat vehicle.
what you have to work with:
The Tank can be between 30 and 55 tons, may be tracked or wheeled, but not hover. must include at least 2 machine guns and one additional weapon, may not include CASE, and may be powered by ICE or Fuel Cell, but not fusion.
the VTOL
May be between 15 and 25 tons. Must include one long-range weapon, but must also include a secondary weapon with short range (for designs over 20 tons). Must be able to survive a 1 level fall or 'crash' on the hull. May not be fusion powered or have XL or XXL fusion power, and must include at least one weapon designed after 3067.
"bang for the buck": both vehicles must have some aspect that stands out-whether speed, or armor, or weapons load. Armor is restricted to stock Ferro fibrous or Standard armor (for cost reasons).
Aim for satisfying two thirds of the golden triad: armor, speed, or firepower. It must stand out compared to book vees, but it must have one obvious design flaw, aka if it's fast and well armored, anemic weapons, if it's got great firepower and speed, crap armor, if it's got weapons and armor that are exceptional, it is 'a bit slow' (literally).
Imagine these as "also rans" for a procurement contract, which lost, but 'coulda been a contendah' if the designers/engineers had spent just a LITTLE more time (or had a little better budget).
