TM p239, TRANSPORT BAY TABLE
IO p98, Ultraheavy ProtoMechs (Ultras)

I was wondering how many Ultras can be transported in a transport bay, as it is a bit open for interpretation.

A ProtoMech Transport Bay:
1. Can house 5 ProtoMechs, no matter their tonnage?
2. Can house up to 5 protomechs as long as their combined tonnage doesn't exceed 45 tons?
3. Can either house 5 regular Protomechs or 3 Ultra-Heavy ProtoMechs?

Ultraheavy protos can only be transported in Battlemech bays, if you want them to be combat deployable and whatever other benefits you get from using a proper bay for your unit.  Otherwise they must be transported as cargo.

Sorry, a related additional question:

Is that as one Ultra-Heavy ProtoMech in a single 'Mech bay? Or as Trey/Point?

Single per bay.
The solution is just ignore Paul.
