The Warhammer from CM:Mercenaries?
« on: 14 April 2017, 16:16:49 »
I could have sworn at some point you could buy this on the Ironwind store.  Is there anywhere you can get the new Warhammer miniature shown in Combat Manual Mercenaries or is not in production yet?

As stated by Cache, not in production by IWM as yet. A couple of prototype 3D prints were displayed at Gencon 2015 by CGL (not IWM). No news/annoucements of when they will become available from IWM (or CGL).

Incoming fire has the right of way.

The only thing more accurate than incoming enemy fire is incoming friendly fire.

I don't consider that fixing anything. Folks have been waiting longer for other units from TROs 3085 and 3145, not to mention the decades some of us have waited for units that fan financing might cover. Currently there are three Warhammer and two Warhammer IIC minis available from IWM for use as proxies. So you want another Warhammer resculpt. I want a 3055 Upgrades Gunslinger and Berserker. It's going on 12 years that I've been waiting on them. At least the nuSeen Warhammer is a certainty.

Thanks, that clears things up.  I have a list as long as my arm of different Battletech miniatures I want so there is no hurry.

I do think it fixes it.

Like you, I too would like to see a Gunslinger resculpt, however there has never been any test sculpts of such a thing unlike the Warhammer.  The NuSeen art/sculpt generated a lot of buzz and (will, most likely) sales/revenue...and yet remains something unavailable for nearly two years?

I'm making no assumptions, so please spare me the "you don't know how hard it is to..." arguments.  I'd simply like to see supply meet demand while demand still exists.

I was looking forward to a NuSeen TRO (might exist someday) but since CGL chose to release a few mechs here and there, scattered throughout other products, I'm out.  I bought a few, initially excited, but then some were "meh", so I'm done.  I understand what CGL is doing, but I'm not willing to participate and spend any money.  I'll wait for the art/data to become available elsewhere, or have my the guys in my group lend me their latest sourcebook purchase when we next meet.  If/when a TRO is released, maybe I'll pick it up.

Same thing with minis.  If the NuSeen are going to be released a few at a time over the next several years, I think there is a significant risk of waning interest.

Nothing is certain.

Tough business to be in.

Actually, now that we are talking about the Nuseen how many are being made?  I know the Shadow Hawk is available are there any others?

The next intro box was mentioned to have the classics in plastic. That was from Randall in one of the twitch streams iirc, but nothing officially announced.

Speck said that IWM is currently set for 12 of the classics (If memory serves...). No information on what they are licensed to produce, just the number that will be in metal for now.

i have a feeling we're not going to get any real news about the classics box until the cake is almost ready to come out of the oven. the only thing worse than no news is indefinite delays.

I somehow have the feeling that the new box will be released when HBS´s Battletech game will be released to make use of the hype. But that would require some real marketing expert and that was always a problem with BTech.

That would require a lot more control over the production process.

And having the produce being produced right now. Which last Randall spoke on the subject seemed like a distant thing of end of year early next year maybe kinda thing.

Well, after all the gaming projects I supported and attended I can assure you that HBS product will take as long as that. I mean, look at the current holdup with the beta. This is totally the norm in the video gaming industry.

You know, it just hit me. The 'classic' Warhammer is nearly perfect to base an Anzu kitbash off ...

Legs 'n hips are quite reminiscent of the unseen. Torso could work, with mods.
Problem is; the Anzu's not on IWMs radar at present.

This will save me trouble. With the 2 new box sets coming out any idea about the warhammer and marauder being released by either iwm or CGL later this year?

No word . . . but I will point out that the 2nd & 3rd quarters only have 3 mechs each where they usually have 4 . . . and we do not have the 4th quarter at all.

Noting that both the Warhammer and the Marauder feature in HG's legal paperwork to the currently running court case, I believe we will should not expect see either of those minis until the court case is resolved one way or the other.

Sorry, yeah . . . I was thinking of the box set stuff . . . its why I went back to my kitbashing plans of a couple of years ago for some -6D and -3Rs.
