Thanks!

Just finished up a Hierofalcon for Jade Falcon Delta Galaxy:

I'm pretty happy with how this one turned out, looking forward to the release of the Jade Phoenix from IWM. I really do wish they made stuff like this out of resin instead of metal, I despise metal miniatures most of the time.

I realized I hadn't painted a Griffin yet for the Lyran Guards, and picked up the newer iteration of the beginner box to get another one. Since I now have a Vindicator and Cataphract sitting around I might as well paint up a MAC unit down the line.

Looks gorgeous.  How did you get the black panel lines?

Thanks, I used an almost even mix of citadel contrast black templar and contrast medium, using a slightly more diluted mix on the white areas and a darker mix on the blue. Then built up the colors again with corax white and alaitoc blue. Something like AP dark tone could probably give a similar result. Ive tried some different things on these Lyran mechs, the Griffin is shaded with agrax earthshade.

Finished up a few more mechs, Banshee, Hatchetman, and a EDL Bushwacker:

I used vallejo US olive drab for the Bushwacker...which might be....too drab. I like how it looks but it's less green than EDL is usually portrayed.

Smoke Jaguars Alpha Galaxy Mist Lynx:

Almost went with delta galaxy, but I like the drab simplicity of alpha galaxy too. I do have a Shadowcat/Ryoken/Dire Wolf sitting around, I might do more Smoke Jaguars instead of slotting them into my Clan Wolf/Falcon forces.

Very nice work on the spots!  It can be hard to get them the right size, but looks like you nailed it!

Thanks!

I painted the whole model with citadels macragge blue, then metals with leadbelcher, yellow panels with averland sunset. Wash all over with agrax earthshade heavily diluted with lahmian medium. Build up all those base colors back up leaving the shade in recesses. Highlight blue with calgar blue, yellow with yriel yellow, metals with AP shining silver. Weathering is stippled on skavenblight dinge, and mechs feet drybrushed with steel legion drab.

The base is simply stirland mud, layered over with steel legion drab, drybrushed with ushabti bone with 2mm dry green tufts from GamersGrass.

Tried to capture the look of this artwork as close as I could while keeping it simple.

I'm not sure about the name of the artist, but the artwork appears on the salvage boxes coming with the mercs kickstarter.

Lyran Guards thunderbolt and Arcturan Guards longbow:

The thunderbolt finally wraps up all the models from the starter box that i've had sitting around. Would it be unusual for a Regent to be painted in Lyran colors? I think it's a Sea Fox mech but i'm really not sure how I want to paint it.

Glad to see you back to painting regularly. It is always a treat to see your ‘Mechs! That Longbow is just about the exact shade of the lagging in several of the ships that I served on.

Really impressive! The Thud is glorious. The Arcturan is a little blue for my expectations, thought they were white.

Not at all. According to the MUL, it's IS General (and others) from Dark Age onwards - the Sea Foxes are selling them everywhere!

Having painted my Lyran Guards Thunderbolt a couple years ago, I can say yours is better in every way.  I'm jealous but also appreciate your attention to detail.

I also like the blueish tint on your white Arcturan Guards Longbow.  If something is too white, it comes off as devoid of any color on the table and stands out in an unnatural way.  That tint of white is going to look fantastic when you get the opportunity to play.

Thanks all!

I swapped out the photos of the longbow, hopefully it's more clear now as those photos did have a weird tint/bad lighting going on. The basecoat is corax white, which is really a very light grey. The cockpit also looks much more green in person, ah well.
