The book store will never carry his Exegesis, while some of his lesser known works like the tripple stigmata of palmer eldritch or Valis will be harder to come by.  Try your county library and save a buck.  When my family grew more accustomed to using the request features and how accessible the online library sites are, it becomes very easy to get a book from a neighboring stock brought in.  To say nothing of the amount of money you save if your children are also devouring books.

I live full time overseas as an expat, and books are an easy, minimal expense.

As much as I loved PKD as a teenager and in my early 20's, he did a lot of harm to the Science Fiction community with an elitist type mindset for American authors in creating a group mind that should or shouldn't approve who is acknowledged or not by "the best" in the genre.  And that goes a long way for a person who is just plainly an author and story weaver.  He's a product of his time with space flight and "martian canals" being discovered and the heavy psychotropic scene exploding.  In the end, he was never honest with the vision he was given and this caused as much consternation in him personally that he became a facsimile of many of his protagonists.  He was very much like HG Wells.
I disagree. PKD wasnt a planned futurist like Wells was. The former had mental issues (no doubt exacerbated by his drug taking), and he wrote about his fears and paranoia. Its somewhat coincidental that his anxieties with technology, and the stuff he wrote about them has actually come true, much like George Orwell and his warnings of an all-powerful surveillance state in 1984 also became real.

Is it actually that much cheaper than a Victor-9D? Their capabilities aren’t quite identical, but they’re similar enough that I’d think just building more Victors would make more sense than developing a whole new mech that has…a few more SRM tubes and a lot less armor.

Mine shows that it was just shipped today, which is...irritating.

Alrighty, so I've set the date for the FWL vs Star Adder game for Saturday June 22nd at Gamers Corps in Ellicott Cty, MD.  Start time will be 11 AM.

I'll plan to make it out for this. Been getting lots of pickup games in lately so I'll probably be a little more useful than I was last time.

If you need a ride, lemme know

One thing I've really noticed about isekai titles is that for a few years now, the fact that they're isekai has become increasingly irrelevant: if the isekai part were removed, it would have minimal effect on the plot.

What would honestly be nice is if the industry could get away from the RPG-mechanic fantasy idea.

It's a good enough mech that runs into that 60 ton problem of 'where do I put the tonnage?' Think labeling the mech a bodyguard is a little misleading in regards to it capabilities, though it's a mech that definitely shines more as part of a team. Adding it's salvos to which ever mech it's paired with would definitely hurt. Looking forward to what we may see in the upcoming SLDF pack.

Clan Chatterweb / Re: Clan Nova Cat - Zombie Catgirl Extravaganza

Hopefully some of you can help me parse some things out. For a while now I have been inspired by @parable's ceremonial Nova Cat uniform, and coupled with a bunch of friends who religiously attend DragonCon, I've been thinking of putting together a Nova Cat field uniform.

I'm trying to figure out some of what Randall meant in his descriptions though. The field uniform is described as a "full-length body suit", which I actually take to mean something like a one-piece flight suit or coveralls rather than a form fitting spandex body-suit. I was thinking something like this or this with "banded collar".

And the "thin-black stripe", I just imagine as a single, maybe 1/2 inch (1cm) wide stripe starting at the collar and going down the center of the left arm sleeve, torso, and leg?

Does that seem right?

I really like that Grizzly!
Agreed, with that camo scheme the Grizzly is a beauty. Any tips or suggestions for making your camo colors so clean and sharp, please? I've struggled painting ghostbear winter schemes.
