Convention Game Terrain
« on: 06 November 2017, 14:52:38 »

I would have posted an after action report of this game, but since I didn't make any notes of what happened during the game it all kind of blurs together in my memory.

See the rest of the photos here.

Looks like it would get ... interesting!
"That's Lieutenant Faceplant to you, Corporal!"

Things that I have learnt through clicking too fast on 'Move Done' on MegaMek: Double-check the CF of the building before jumping onto it, check artillery arrival times before standing in the neighbouring hex, and don't run across your own minefield.

"Hmm, I wonder if I can turn this into a MM map."

Well I'm pretty sure everyone had a good time, so I'd say it was definitely interesting.

Nice battleground  8)  What era were you playing?

Third Succession War, the battle takes place on a isolationist world in the periphery just off the border of the FWL. I actually made up a backstory for the game but never printed it (I wanted to finalize all of the documents before laminating them). If there are any lore buffs out there, be sure to let me know if it checks out.

Yeah, I was probably influenced by the sarna article on Astrokaszy when creating the backstory as I do remember reading that article at some point before putting on the game.

Some nice terrain and cool pics..  Though as a q, on some, there was some of that 'cotton ball like fluff' on a few mechs.  Waht was that to simulate?

Those are just polyester fibers representing smoke, I used it on mechs and vehicles put into forced withdraw or that were immobilized.

Not much else really, just other varieties of "smoke" for more severe damage.
