Cheers for the info buddy.

Bit harsh on the Regulan's though, we're all one big happy family again no?

Well except for the Andurien splitters obviously.

Diamantina.

the FWL has managed to claim worlds in federally directed wars without instantly collapsing into a civil war over those wars. PRESUMABLY there's some sort of mechanism at play. I imagine the worlds start off as independant worlds, (or are folded back into their previous owner if they where previously owned) and then are courted by nearby member states

The one-world-one-vote thing is new, and there is amount of Marik-Stewart elites waiting in the wings with no political power commiserate to their ambitions and self-perception of their personal status. Adding those worlds gives us a dose of political elites that matter who aren't satisfied with the status quo. They shall at the least have to be accommodated (and one of their views is that the Halas line aren't legitimate Captain-Generals). It's destabilizing.

We should probably have pinned the Hunting Season plot on them and had them judicially murdered in show trials when doing something like that wouldn't have resulted in a planetary revolt. Those ex-Wolf Empire worlds stand to actually care about that sort of thing.

The one-world-one-vote system will actually advantage the recovered Marik-Stewart Commonwealth worlds. The old system assigned votes based on GDP, but any planet that's transitioned to a clan economic system has seen it's GDP plummet (because a lot of the economic activity would have been deemed 'wasteful' and shut down). That's on top of those worlds having been violently conquered an having had their trade links to the rest of the FWL severed, each of which could cause an economic crash on its own.

The newly empowered aristocrats might not like the Halas line right now, but Halas blood, treasure and legal wrangling will be responsible for them gaining political power. That kind of thing tends to change a person's loyalties. What has house Marik done for these people in living memory again, other than fail to protect their interests?

Given the Halas's are the last ones to jump into the war for the Wolf Empire, and it's been the provinces and their mercenaries fighting so far, as well as other provincial / loyalist Marik units, I don't see how they'll appreciate the Halas's jumping in at the last minute after they've got no choice but to join the war, to try and save face and acquire some glory.

The Dragoon's book gives you a idea of what will happen, so expecting it to be wiped out like the JFOZ is a bit off.

That is absolutely something that should be spoilered. The book isn't available to most people yet.

Stuff's certainly leaked one way or another which is why I'm not linking pics for safety's sake, as otherwise I loathe the "I know something you don't know and will tease you over it even if the normal release is months away" attitude we got over something like Tamar Rising.

I'm more concerned whether the Clan Protectorate backstabbed us a little or a lot, based on the coloration on the map and Redemption Rites. Can't ever trust a Clanner.

You write as if the FWL is a model of unity ;D .The  Clan Protectorate did not stab anyone in the back, as the Silver Hawk raids were not authorized by parliament. And formally, the Protectorate forces acted as peacekeepers to prevent a major conflict. And their territory is this color because part of it formally belongs to Wolves. Will the Protectorate return these worlds later? A big question considering the upcoming big war between the League and the Wolves.

The Free Worlds League sticks out in the Battletech universe as a federation that actually practices federalism, not devolution, or feudalism. The newer Free Worlds League sought to lessen the military implications of this by making the Captain-General the full Commander in Chief, including of provincial forces, but it looks like they are going to have to earn this distinction outside of writing. The idea of provincial forces moving without the approval of the LCCC is not an alien concept to the state, particularly when a rapid response is necessary. Historically the provincial forces were under the command of the provinces, and loaned to the LCCC. Elizabeth Marik particularly muddied the waters on this one. While they may respond to the LCCC, they still are provincial. The League is going to have to grow into its new state.

Agreed, It's about time the League put those filthy Clanners squatting on our worlds back in their box.  Also, I have reason to suspect the Atrean Dragoons will be playing a major role in the offensive...

I fell out of favour with heaven somewhere, so I'm here for the hell of it now...

I hope so too, though we've been explicitly told that the unit in the preview art is the Sirian Lancers.

Does that mean we get a repeat of Operation guerrero where the Lancers were denied to free their ancestral home worlds? Or perhaps a succesful operation were they are allowed to free their worlds instead of watching of they suffer under a madman?

Wrong hipster Leaguer brigade. It was the Silver Hawks that were previewed.
The Sirian Lancers making a comeback would be a whole 'nother level of insanity.

Have to admit right now after reading the book, the latest Free Worlds League military action is petty, provincial, confused and generally disjointed.
The people writing it understand us so well it's beautiful. That the offensive is actually working out somehow in spite of itself is I think the biggest thing that's weirding me out.

I'm not used to the League being plot relevant, let alone actually having some limited military success.
