In terms of the best of the Star League the Smoke Jaguars do seem to be following in the footsteps of Amos Forlough.

Shipping from the Webshop is a separate issue from shipping for the Kickstarter, prices on one are not indicitative of the other at all.

This is great to hear that international backers aren't getting stiffed. Super pleased to hear that.

Although now I am curious, I'm a Stateside Regimental backer with a couple extra items and shipping is $115 (on a $1000 order).

Would be curious to hear if other Regimental backers have a similar shipping amount? Reeeeeaaaaaalllly hoping there isn't another computer snafu.
Thank you.  I just did a check on the CGL site and yep more than 100 shipping for a forcepack.  For what you are after there may be a snafu BUT it also may be cheaper for Chine > AU.  I don't have details on that of course.

A conventional infantry platoon is also 4 squads, it's just that individual infantry squads usually aren't good for much. I don't see any reason you couldn't have a company of 56 unarmored & 16 armored infantry, but in practice that's probably a terrible combat unit. The transportation, performance, & battlefield rooes will be too different to group them below the battalion level.

Yeah, seriously not buying that the Confederation is the only faction in the entire game where everyone is smart enough to realize that.

Yet that hasn't been the case for the others, but it was[/ii] the case for the Confederation from its very founding. the Capellan Confederation came into being becauae the constituent countries were under imminent threat of occupation & absorbtion. "We all stick together or we all hang separately" is embedded in their history & national identity.

To me the Volga is the closest comparison. 6 dropship collars check. Lots of cargo capacity check. 2/3 speed, check. Enough firepower to defend itself from some threats in the wilds of space, check.

The Volga was designed to ship supplies and such out to the SLDF's periphery outposts. Which reminds me a lot of the Dart's mission of independent operations, carrying a lot of dropships and cargo in the wilds of unsecured space. It does have enough firepower to defend itself, like the Dart did.

If the Volga feels too much like a support vessel for your liking, then I'd pivot to the Congress. Also noted for its capabilities to operate independently. Instead of carrying lots of dropships itself, it's more of a convoy escort/recon craft.

So to me the Congress and Volga are the two closest things to a straight-line comparison. Warships of similar weight, capable of independent operations. But the Congress leans more into potential combat and recon roles, where the Volga leans more into the armored cargo transport with lots of dropships.

The York deserves an honorable mention but is rather different. The Dart didn't carry any fighters, but presumably some of its dropships could have. The York leans into being capable of independent operations, but focusing on ASF carrier operations.

If none of those fit your parameters, you may have to start looking at the warships with variations of "Cruiser" next to their class. By just having more tonnage to work with, and more dropship collars than most of the lighter warships, they start to check a lot of the same boxes as the Dart, just in a much larger hull.

Missouri, Battalion and a bit, shipping down from $100 and a bit to $50something. That still seems a touch high, but QML shipping was higher than expected on another recent Kickstarter delivery.
