Objective: Hack Communications Array without being noticed. If noticed and not able to hack, destroy Communications Array.

Report: 6 August 3049 - Unit disembarks dropship at landing zone alpha (LZ Alpha).
9 August 3049 - Anthony Berkowski (Tony B)’s Wolverine stumbles during the day resulting in considerable damage to his head armor and minor damage to his center torso armor. Tony B is deemed to be in perfect condition besides his bruised ego.
11 August 3049 - After a mostly uneventful six (6) day trek from the LZ Alpha to the objective we get within one (1) kilometer of the communications array without detecting anyone else.
Our newly appointed unit commander, Takeo Minamoto, orders us to follow the recommendation from our briefing and to approach as slowly as possible, walking speed only.
John Smythe takes point with his Beagle Active Probe scanning continuously. Everyone else stays behind but everyone, including John, are clustered around Thomas Ackerman and his Guardian ECM Suite to help mask our approach.
We all walk towards the objective physically hiding in the dense forest surrounding it. After half a kilometer we get close to the rocks surrounding the objective but we have an unidentified hovercraft approaching from behind. Upon visual contact it looks like a heavily modified Pegasus Scout Hovertank with unknown markings. The closest pilot, Marukuro Tahara (Mark), broadcasts on an open channel for the Pegasus to identify itself. With no reply Mark then torso twists and shoots his Particle Projection Cannon (PPC) as a warning shot. The Pegasus, still at top speed rushes away to never been seen from again.
Takeo makes the split second decision for everyone to advance on the array to try and complete our primary objective. John is close enough to run to the array in a single bound, he reports some muddled reactor signals from the Beagle Active Probe, and starts dismounting to enter the objective to commence our hack. Takeo is on the rocks looking into the complex continuing to scan with his Beagle Active Probe since John dismounted.
The rest of the unit encircles the objective with Felicia Warrington and Marcus Warrington in their LAMs jumping on the highest rocks and Tamara Jones in her OstScout joining them on a nearby rock for the advantage of high ground. Tony B and Mark run onto the rocks near the entrance that John and Thomas entered to watch from the rear, just in case the Pegasus isn’t the only thing approaching from behind.
Seconds after John enters the complex everyone hears mechanical grinding noises. As everyone is looking around trying to pinpoint the location of the noise, Takeo’s Beagle Active Probe pinpoints the muddled reactor signals and he sees there are four (4) mechs on scan after a perfectly camouflaged reinforced hangar door in the mountainside behind the communications array starts opening.
The unit proceeds to engage the following four (4) mechs: Crab (50 tons), Grand Dragon (60 tons), Caesar (70 tons), and Orion (75 tons).
First out of the hangar are the Grand Dragon and Orion which are in range of the whole unit. Thomas jumps on top of the highest rock, from the front of the hangar to the rear of the mechs leaving the hangar with the same unknown markings. Thomas proceeds to broadcast on an open channel telling the unidentified mechs that they are surrounded and to surrender now or they would be destroyed. With no response, only their targeting computers locking onto our unit and weapons charging, most of the unit concentrates fire on the Grand Dragon delivering significant damage to it. Everyone that didn’t have line of sight (LOS) on the Grand Dragon delivered minor damage to the Orion. The Orion engages the immobile Hermes and delivers enough damage to knock it to the ground on its back.
While all weapons are recharging or reloading the Crab and Caesar leave the hanger to join the fight. The unit continues concentrating on the Grand Dragon but some of the unit broke off to engage better targets of opportunities. Felicia with the assistance of Tony B delivered a fatal blow to the Caesar causing its Gauss Rifle to explode, destroying its right torso and the section of its Extra Large Fusion Engine (XL Engine) in that torso. Within seconds one mech of the unidentified unit is down but the Orion delivered a kick to the downed Hermes, destroying its right arm. After her weapons recharge and reload Felicia continues her precision shooting and kills the Grand Dragon with the help of Thomas and Tony B.
John finishes his hacking and sets up the link to monitor the communications array in under a minute and leaves the objective to re-enter his now damaged mech. Primary objective Complete.
With two (2) of their four (4) mechs destroyed the Crab and Orion start running to get away from this massacre. After a little chasing Takeo gets behind the Crab and cores its center torso. Three (3) mechs destroyed, one (1) to go.
Even though the Crab and Orion tried to move through the forest outside the rocks in different directions, in very little time with the whole unit encircling the Orion it is severely crippled and falls to the ground. After several broadcasts on open coms requesting the pilot to surrender Felicia uses her Phoenix Hawk’s hand actuator to pry open the cockpit to the Orion. Inside is an unconscious pilot bleeding profusely and severely injured. Felicia dismounts, applies basic medical attention to try and stabilize him then takes the pilot to her cockpit where she jumps into the sky and flies her LAM towards the dropship for emergency medical care. Even at full flying speed with LZ Alpha being six (6) standard walking days away it will take her two (2) Days to reach the dropship.
After the Orion’s pilot and Felicia are clear of the Orion, Tamara uses her OstScout to remove the barely damaged right arm from the Orion so that the medium laser can be used to replace one of the lasers lost in the Hermes’s missing arm. Mason used his LAM’s speed to fly to all the downed mechs and sabotage them all to make them harder to repair/reuse.
In less than five (5) minutes we traveled one (1) kilometer to and hacked the objective, destroyed a medium/heavy lance, and left with no casualties.
17 August 3049 - All pilots except Felicia make the six (6) day trek back to LZ Alpha. Random, coded short burst transmissions are picked up on an open channel around sunset every day during the trek but no other enemy activity was sited.
