The Manticore’s popularity kept the tank in service through the Succession Wars, even with its fusion engine. Quickscell Corporation could never get the rights to produce a Rommel or Patton tank and decided to take their own route. They decided to create their own version using Manticore specifications. This variant inspired the creation of the Axel MkI, another variant of the Rommel/Patton, in widespread use by the Free Rasalhague Republic. While based off of the Manticore, it showed that there is an advantage to producing lower-tech versions of popular tanks.

This version of the Manticore is designated as “Monty.” It follows the Rommel/Patton trend by referencing a Terran General of the 20th century. The chassis is built using Manticore specifications and was retrofitted to handle a 180 rated Internal Combustion Engine. This gives the unit a much lower price tag. However, it is much slower, making it better suited for a support role instead of a MBT. The armor profile matches its parent design. Its main weapon is a large Crusher SH Autocannon 20 with two tons of ammunition. The gun is supported by a mix of weapons to cover its short range. Two FarFire LRM-5 launchers gives the tank adequate reach and indirect fire capabilities. A Holly SRM-2 and a 20mm Gatling Gun gives it some bonus short-range firepower to deal with other conventional units. Like most Quickscell units, these weapons might be a different brand depending on what faction produces it. Also, there are no glairing faults to the design, which is almost unheard of given Quickscell’s reputation.

To be a true Monty  the plans would have to come from another tank. just like his military planning  came from others and reused.   El Alimein and Market Garden  almost same battle plan  single major line of  advance.

That's the joke. The Tank is basically a poor Quickscell copy of the Manticore/Rommel/Patton. The only reason it's "unique" is because it's using design choices on the other 3... poorly... because of how slow it is.
