AV1-O Avatar's Introduction Year
« on: 04 February 2011, 22:33:51 »
The beta of the MUL lists the Avatar as introduced in 3059, but it debuted in TRO 3058, is available on the RATs in FM:DCMS which I thought described the status from 3058 from 3058 (the deployment table is dated Jan 1 3059) and the Avatar was apparently widely distributed by the time of Bulldog/Serpent in May of 3059 which seems unlikely for a mech that just entered production.  Is 3059 correct?

Cheers,
LCC

EDIT:  Based on the fluff it looks like it should have been released around 3055, two years before the Lyran Secession.
Quote from: TRO:3058U p. 144
Within the first two years of its production, Avatars
were deployed by the DCMS along the Clan border and
had even been sold in limited quantities to ComStar
and the Federated Commonwealth’s Lyran half. After
the Lyran secession, foreign sales to the Lyrans diverted
to ComStar instead—a policy that continued
unabated until the aftermath of the Combine-Dominion
War.

Alternatively, what was the decision process behind the 3059 production date for the Avatar?

Thanks in advance.

PS Would this be better asked on a different board?

Not sure I understand the question. Can you cite where you are getting the date?

Thank you,

3059 is the intro date listed in the Master Unit List beta.  I'm under the impression now from the MUL team that the date was an error and has been fixed for the pending next version.

In short: sorry and nevermind.
