This ship came about as an idea from a topic I was reading about warship armor and how the black navy vessels are generally blimps 2-3 times bigger than they should be. Also discussed is how efficient a ship can be with all its weapons on one side and rolling to cover another direction when necessary.

Here's some fluff:
The Rainbow Fire Assault Platform was conceived by the SLDF as a means of quickly building up battleship-level firepower at a low cost. While it is as mobile as other warships, it is designed to jump to a position in space, guard that position, and project its firepower as needed. The Rainbow augments space navy forces in attacks and in defensive operations.
The Rainbow was designed with most of its weapons and armor on one side, with a selection of arms based on the Texas Battleship, consisting of naval lasers, capital missiles, and naval PPCs. The other side of the ship has much less armor and is covered with a heatsink array.
While the SLDF had several of the Rainbow ships available, their production and deployment ramped up as a quick and cost-effective means of fighting against the Amaris Coup. The ships were deployed alongside Texas and McKenna battleships to bolster their firepower and turn the tide of battle.
The Rainbow is so called because its weapon arrangement makes its laser fire look like a rainbow is being projected.
