Lore: A mainline Saxonian battle tank, despite it's slowness. The Hoovydundy is a 80 ton MBT that is well armoured and armed to compensate for it's low speed. carrying 20 tons of standard plating and a common 240 fusion engine. The Hoovydundy's main armament comes in the form of it hyper velocity Class 10 autocannon. With backup weapons coming in the form of a SRM-6 with two tons of ammunition and a variety of lasers. CASE of inner sphere quality protects it from ammunition explosions and a Guardian ECM provides a invisible layer of some semblance of stealth. 5 tons of ammunition is loaded for the HVAC10. Produced in 3095 it did not see frontline service as a standard unit until after grey Monday in 3133 when it started to show up in frontline Saxonian Tank Units as advanced technology. As of a Ilclan era it is the standard issue MBT of Saxonian Ground Forces.
Variants:
Heavy PPC: this variant swaps the HVAC10 for a Heavy Particle Projector Cannon and the Armor out for ferro-fibrous plating, the engine was uprated to an higher rated XL fusion engine to allow it to go at the same speed as Inner Sphere Line Units. Introduced to Saxonian Royal Units in 3145. Though it sacrificed overall cost for an increase in speed this is considered by Royal Units alright overall.

Context: Saxonian manned units are splurged on like house Steiner did on production during the Succession wars era. Sacrificing quantity for quality, due to manpower being at a premium. this goes for all manned units No exceptions within SRAF. the Hoovydundy is just on example of a manned Unit within the SRAF.

The HPPC version should be standard... weapons that regularly blow up in regular service don't make it past prototype.
-
Just to hammer the point home, that HVAC with 40 turns worth of ammo will have a 99.9320% chance of disabling itself before it makes it through the magazine. Of those 99.9320% of tanks that have self-disabled, around 16.67% will have blown themselves up.
In a regiment of 108 tanks, having just one tank go through its ammo without disabling its own gun is an incredibly lucky feat.
-
The main problem with using an HVAC 10, besides it exploding, is that for one ton more, you get a Gauss Rifle. Dropping one ton of ammo that you'll certainly never live long enough to use gives you a drastically better gun, with a more efficient ammo load. But then, it loses the novelty of being a unit to feature the HVAC 10, and just becomes another boring MBT.

This is the refit kit issued to current production Hoovydundy MBT's with the HVAC10, making it into a fast brawler tank. It replaces the 240 SFE with the royal variants XLFE and the HVAC10 with a LB-20X AC and five tons of ammunition. it may not be no demolisher but it makes for a fantastic area denial weapon system within certain environments.

Agreed, the HVA/10 is just a poor weapon when compared to the GR. I'm not sure I would call the GR version a brawler - although I suspect you just forgot to change it ;)
