I loved Triplette announcing after the game that he was retiring. I doubt it was HIS idea to do so.

Side note, I was considering seppuku by the time Bills/Jags ended. That game was awful.

So you don't think that the Jags are going to burn the Pats?

I don't.

Jacksonville hasn't shown me enough to think they will even get past Pittsburgh.

I don't have a real lot of hope for either of the AFC winners this weekend, I think that their competition next weekend far out shines them.  And the only team I didn't want to see the Vikings go against, are coming here next weekend.

Yeah.  My Bills desperately need a new offensive coordinator.

Good lord, no. I mean, they face Pittsburgh next, but after what I saw today (from BOTH of the early-game teams!), I wouldn't pick the two of them TOGETHER on the field at once to beat the Steelers.

The Chiefs Offensive Coordinator only gives it to the 2017 rushing champion 5 times after having built up a double digit lead. So his punishment was apparently being named head coach of the Chicago Bears. I dunno which I feel worse for.

So even if they didn't get called for 22 men on the field...

So Jon Gruden is returning to coaching and it'll be with the Raiders.

I can only see this going two ways.

1.  It'll sort of work but with how long he's been away from coaching, especially the AFC West, it'll ultimately be mediocre at best.

2.  His system and coaching philosophy just won't fit the Raider's talent and it'll show resulting in complete abject failure and unmitigated disaster.

With a 10 year, 100 million dollar deal he'll get a few seasons to see how it goes.

Hey, after another season, two at the most, he might even get to hire his brother as a coordinator once Washington fires him!

After watching highlights of the game I think Philly went and proved they are for real even without Wentz today.

Having watched most of the second half of the Jacksonville Pittsburgh game I don't think it was so much an upset as the Steelers mismanaging the game.  Maybe not snatching defeat from the jaws of victory bad mismanaging but they certainly made some decisions that ensured they would lose.

Good googly moogly that was one heck of a buzzer beater.  I am sure there were hundreds of thousands of minnesotans that were resigned and saying "yup here we are again" I know I was one.  My wife admonished me "that's why you don't give up"  who knew...

Rahim Moore, you are no longer the biggest scapegoat of all time. Marcus Williams, by missing (actually whiffing) on that attempted tackle of Stefon Diggs, are now the holder of that title.

That was pathetic. Just... man, peewee level stuff, don't HIT the guy, TACKLE him.

Drop him inbounds, game over. No chance to get another play off.

Drop him out of bounds, not MUCH time left (not sure exactly where the clock was at that moment).

The one thing they couldn't do was let him get free, and not only did Williams manage to miss completely on his Sportscenter-attempt hit, but he managed to hit the only other Saints player with a realistic chance to catch him. You couldn't script a play to turn out worse defensively.

Catch your own flight home, pal. Your'e not welcome on the team plane.

The clock literally struck 0 as Diggs was running into the end zone, so if Williams had managed to force him out of bounds there would have been a few seconds left.  Enough for a single play, at least.

But yeah.  That thrown shoulder wouldn't have been quite so comically bad if he hadn't flattened the only other Saint close enough to catch Diggs.

Discussing, there were four seconds left when he caught the ball (Sportscenter broke it down). Tackling him out of bounds would have stopped the clock but there's always the chance the Vikings kicker misses (right Walsh?). But you have to make that tackle.

Watching the play I really thought Diggs forgot about the clock and took off out of instinct. I was waiting for him to step out of bounds. It was until they showed a replay with a wider shot that I realized there no defenders with any shot. Totally crazy. And Keenum's reaction is amazing.

That was where I was confused, I figured it couldn't be the safety moving up like that, there must be SOMEONE still back there to... wait... no, if there was he wouldn't be taking off like that... oh god, no way.

Best comment I saw on this, by the way, from a Vikings fan: "I wish Blair Walsh was alive to see this."

One of the most tragic things I heard about the game on the radio today was that those who bet on the Vikings to win still lost because the spread was 5.5 pts. How many people with $$$$s riding on this were at home with elation but then yelling at the TV "you need to kick the extra point!"

Of course it was going to be the Patriots again.

As much as I find it difficult to accept one team being that consistently dominating as long as they have without doing something illegal Jacksonville never had a chance even without the Patriots doing something underhanded.

I do find myself rooting for the Vikings now for the simple fact that I would like to see history made.  That and i think they might actually make for a better game facing off against the Patriots.
