Title: (Answered) Rappelling down a cliff/heli/...
Post by: Tycho on 08 February 2013, 06:24:07
hi,

I would like to know if there are any rules for rappelling down with a role

in the last game session  the characters are standing on top of a cliff and want to rappel down into an enemy camp as fast as possible. They had rappelling gear (p.312 AToW) and ropes ready to go.
I think technically they would have to make a climbing movement action (p. 167) , but the climbing MP are rather low and pretty adequate for climbing up/down a wall/cliff/etc. but not for rappelling, where you should be able to go a lot faster than normal climbing.
I did not find anything about rappelling in the book other than the rappelling gear (p.312 AToW) in the equipment section, so I improvised that rappelling only uses 0.5 MP per meter (using the climbing Movement action (p. 168).

But I would like to know, if there are any official rules for rappelling.

cya and thx
Tycho

No official rules. Sounds like you handled it pretty well.
