A full rundown of the content of each comic, as well as a picture of the cover, in in their respective Sarna articles linked above.

Both Fallout and the earlier Blackthorne comic series aren't too difficult to get hold of - I actually got the larger part of them from Ebay US in two or three bulk orders, for a dollar or two each; shipping to Germany was the expensive part. If these are collector's items at all, they certainly aren't particularly valuable.

Well, IDW do have a yearly tradition of a horror crossover with each of their licensed comics.  (last year was Cthulu vs Steampunk Transformers, GI Joe, Ninja Turtles, 30 Days of Night and Dungeons and Dragons.  The year before was Zombies vs Transformers, GI Joe, Ghostbusters and Star Trek)

Well this could either be awesome or total suck. With IDW, there's rarely any middle ground.

me, I'd love to see a Furman written BT comic. But then, I also think most Furmanisims could easily be Clanner dialouge
For me it will be important whether they stick to BattleTech/MechWarrior lore, or if they only use BattleTech props, appearance etc.

Despite how bad it was I did buy them all as they came out and had them signed by the artists and a writter years ago at a con. They currently reside framed in a box in storage. Do they hold any value? No, none whatsoever other than the pretty foil covers.

If this is true than I am going into it with an open mind but not expecting much.

Well, now it's April. Who knows if there will something in October. BattleTech has enough examples of vaporware in its history.

Please, no.

BattleTech already has equivalent for Transformers. Those are called Land-Air BattleMech.
You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights errant, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Speaking of which, mostly for a personal project that I've been planning, which of the classic novels would actually make for an interesting conversion into comic format?

I tried that with Fallout, but my brain fell out.

I'm going to have to go with either Binding Force or Wolves on the Border.

Though Binding Force probably pips Wolves on the Border slightly for a comic format due to it being largely from the perspective of a single protagonist.

The first thing to come to mind is Illusions of Victory, the Solaris novel.

I dunno. Illusions of Victory was like an action movie. Too many 'Fade to Black' perspective jumps.

...

Although you may have a point about that. That would work for a comic in a certain sense.

Perhaps a Camacho's novel?

Really any of the ones that aren't heavy on the interstellar politics could do the trick.

I know people will practically skin me, but I think Star Lord would be a decent comic.
Think about it: the plot was barely a decent RPG module, the villain was hammy as heck, most of the descriptions in the story could easily be reworked as art and save us on text.

Plus if it totally bombs we didn't affect anything of note to begin with!  O0

Pretty much. But man would I love a graphic novel set in the BTech universe, stuffed with politics, dialogue and intrigue!

I could dig that. Besides, I actually enjoy Star Lord from time to time.

A full-length GN? Yeah, that'd rock.

Considering Zug's Camacho's idea, that would work. Milan's writing has a serious dark tone at times which could fit a GN.

I wouldn't want an adaptation of an existing novel. After all, we have the existing novel. Why rehash old material when we've been chomping at the bit for years now for new fiction?

I wouldn't mind a rehash of old material in a new entertainment format because we don't have new novels yet.
Some things can look better in a different light. Maybe a few graphic novels or short series comics based on a few of the non core novels could interest sales and maybe help get more writing out in a novel-like format.

Also in order to get the older novels, you need to go to second hand book stores and hunt them down.

Y'know what. Star Lord gets so much crap but when you think about it it has all the ingredients of a good popcorn movie. Sit back, relax and watch stuff blow-up with a villian you love to hate and a plot that is easy to follow. Not sure about you guys but when I started reading the novels back in the day I didn't care so much for the political side of things, I wanted battles between big stompy robots and clearly defined heros and villians. Star Lord is still one of my favs.  [watch]

Which is the perfect example of my earlier statement about certain things being better in a new light.
I could easily see Star Lord be a 3-6 issue comic which introduces the reader into Battletech.  O0

(Though I'd pay good money to see the Halloween issue that managed to crossover THOSE.)
