IDW could team up with Moonstone, and give us My Little Pony vs. Cheerleaders vs. Zombies.

It's more interesting than optimal, and therefore better. O0 - Weirdo

And to cause ultimate horror, realize that IDW's big license right now is...My Little Pony.

(Though I'd pay good money to see the Halloween issue that managed to crossover THOSE.)

It'd have to have something to do with Hell's Horses.

I picked up the whole series at ComicCon a few years back and was lucky enough to use them to hold Clint Langley's signatures (I know he didn't work on them but he did a lot of excellent work for the Battletech CCG. He was confused at first but after we flipped through them and shared a laugh he signed them only because "when I painted these mechs they looked WAAAAAYYYYY better, lol." he said.

I tried that with Fallout, but my brain fell out.

I'm going to have to go with either Binding Force or Wolves on the Border.

Though Binding Force probably pips Wolves on the Border slightly for a comic format due to it being largely from the perspective of a single protagonist.

I think I'm in the minority, but I actually liked the old comics. I still have them in my big box of comic collections. Right next to the Green Lantern and Witchblade series.

I just emailed Kahlil Schweitzer, their media spokeperson. Asked if its still on and to get some details or art design samples if it is, maybe an interview with the writer for Sarna news. My guess is it will be the MWO artstyle. It lends itself better to dynamic artwork better so there would be far less if any redesigning involved.

Just got a message back and MechWarrior is still set for October. Trying for an Interview soon as John gets back from vacation, and perhaps some samples or promos too to promote the rag.

Ooh, something new to collect!  I'm on board, tough I won't sully any new book by placing it in proximity to Fallout.

My comic book shop owner can't find any info in the ordering lists.  Has anyone heard anything?   :-\

My last email with IDW said John Barber ain't writing it. Last word was its still on but unless its under a heavy blanket of NDRs I can't see them being able to honor it. I hope theyre just playing their cards close to the vest.

It's not uncommon for comics to slip a bit from IDW - they're more regular than some of the other companies in the same tier as them, but some titles do run late. I'm thoroughly enjoying the Jericho title they're pushing out, but it's a long way from running monthly. I'd be inclined to not read much more into it other than the title isn't ready enough yet to have met the original August solicitation date.

It's more interesting than optimal, and therefore better. O0 - Weirdo

I'm getting that sinking feeling that somethings gone wrong with the comic book.  Then again this sort of a free lance sort thing with Comics now.   If someone paying them to make the MechWarrior comics, its going come out. It may be forced, but it will come.  I'd like them take their time and give us good story with alot of pretty mech bashing.  I'm just afraid if their limited to the limited number of 'Mechs they have in MWO, its not going be as cool.

The IGN article did indicate emphasis on political intrigue. Raw mech chassis might not be as big a deal because of it.

They look to be fan art, there's links on the pages to his own website where he's selling both pics as well as ones of other comics characters.

IDW's website has nothing mentioning they're doing a comic with battletech in any capacity. entirely possible it's been canned/indefinitely postponed for whatever reason.

I hope not, but it would depend on who was backing the comic book project.  If there not much of audience for the comics, they properly won't publish it independently. If Pirhanaa was backing this thing as part of a promotional effort for the game.  It could had been a victim of budget battle.   Has anyone even e-mailed IDW and asked what going on?
