Yes, at the start of each game the two players dice off to determine who is the Hunter and who is the Hunted. The Hunted gets to choose which maps are used, and what edge of the map each player starts on, and the planetary condition in effect (if any). The Hunter gets to choose what mech from his pool he is using, and what mech from his opponent's mech pool his opponent is using. As your mech pool is formed by your starting mech and any mechs you've defeated, the first round the Hunter gets an extra point of edge (everyone gets one edge each game, so first round Hunters start with two edge). After that game, the Hunter in each game has control over which mechs are facing off.
