If it's not fixed, please let me know... I'm pretty sure I pasted it right... ;)

I was hoping they would have fixed the "pretty links" thing by now, but it seems I was wrong... :/

All good now.

It's a huge deal. I'll probably take my 'Mech out for a spin to celebrate, maybe blow up a factory or something.

The nearest factory would be 1,000+ km on the other side of Rabigh, in Shervanis City... ;)

No no no, that's rent-a-wreck-mech.  You can't count that.

Hmm, well. I suppose I'd look a little silly trying to blow up a mountain, instead. And target shooting at old beer bottles with 'Mech weaponry seems a little overkill. And wastes perfectly good beer bottles!

Le sigh. XD

What's the unit culture like? I'm trying to figure out how to chime in on the game thread. I haven't been able to go through all of the story thread, yet, but have a basic idea of where we are. We're stranded and surviving, and there are some rival factions, one of which is holding slaves.

Are we still a military unit? Are we still well-disciplined, or more laid back? Do we value competence and good judgement over obedience?

Well, it's only been a matter of weeks since the unit crashed on Astrokaszy.  The Major is in charge and has so far managed to find a way to provide air conditioning for sleeping quarters, even if it's a little cramped.  The "neighbors" are a similarly marooned unit who have been on planet for a decade.  The "bandits" are total jerks who shot up some of the escape pods.  Rabigh are the locals on the other side of the bandits.

That's a little bit on the external factions.  If you need some on the internal ones, I can cover that too... :)

Repairs to the Marauder will take 475 minutes (at least until the promised errata to Campaign Operations is published) and consume one point of armor beyond what the Emir gave the unit.  That leaves 13 points of armor in stock, but hey, you'll have a Marauder-M back!

I still haven't seen Smoke and Ramjet propose the Panther mods to the Major...  they might argue the SRM-4 could net four tons of armor in trade... ;)

Suddenly the campaign gets the vibe of Escape from Astrokaszy

Welcome aboard Sweep, so riding a "stock" Blackjack?
Might I ask your preferred non mech based weapon?
mine would be these 2 .45-70 Federated Arms Colonial Defenders

2 hand cannons
Who you are dealing with

What's the unit culture like? I'm trying to figure out how to chime in on the game thread. I haven't been able to go through all of the story thread, yet, but have a basic idea of where we are. We're stranded and surviving, and there are some rival factions, one of which is holding slaves.

The Unit Good
Everyone else on the rock beware of

Still seem to have a military unit together with discipline but...  how long that can hold on this Rock after that landing is ????
Yes to competence and good judgement, well unless you propose to give a Panther some close in weapons like so.
"Take a stock PNT-9R, pull the SRM-4 and ammo, .
1 ML CT 1 ML LT
1 Flamer CT for antiinf and lighting the team BBQ

and get told no but this would work
put 2 Medium Lasers where the SRM-4 was (CT), and a heat sink where the ammo was (LT)

IC link
Okay and I might have asked for a bit more crazy stuff too.

Repairs to the Marauder will take 475 minutes (at least until the promised errata to Campaign Operations is published) and consume one point of armor beyond what the Emir gave the unit.  That leaves 13 points of armor in stock, but hey, you'll have a Marauder-M back!

Well to be fair, me and Ramjet really have not had the time to put Kat in the bay to do work, that I 'proposed' on a scrap of paper.
So LT. Ramjet
Planning is done for the Major
Time according to Daryk
Can we propose it to him?

Yeah but unless I want to hand him the scrap paper planning I need the LT in the mix

At the moment, I'm thinking of only leaving the NPCs as the guard force (Jaegermech, Vulcan, Fire Javelin and Stinger).  The APC will go to help liberated slaves, but the BMRV and MASH unit will stay back.  Bianchi will swap into Ramjet's lance for the mission, though she'll mostly be on over watch with her Recon Camera.

I suppose it's stock? I haven't seen a record sheet for the one that's part of the unit. Is it already planned out, or do I get some say in customizing it?

Non-mech weapons? Hmmm... I hadn't given it any thought. Going through the small arms table in AToW, I think Kane would prefer the AUTO-PISTOL (SERREK 7875D). Easy to maintain, and he does all his own maintenance, and nice accuracy at longer ranges. Sounds like it fits a guy with the Sniper PSA.

Unlikely, I think... even with five AC/2s in the unit, the ammo won't deplete that fast... ;)

Why SWEEP, we are going to either get along great or be horrible teammates shooting at long range targets. :drinking01:
