(Answered) BMM: Laser AMS cluster roll
« on: 28 December 2019, 04:36:20 »
On pg. 118 of the 2nd printing pdf of the BattleMech Manual, Anti-Missile systems have the Enhanced Missile Defence (<2 on the modified roll eliminates all missiles) as an optional rule, but the Laser Anti-missile system has it listed as part of the base rules for the equipment. Is this intended or an error? The wording states: “ Standard anti-missile system rules apply when using the Laser AMS (see above), except the laser system requires no ammunition and generates 5 heat points. Furthermore, if an L-AMS reduces a missile flight’s Cluster Hits roll to less than 2, it completely destroys the incoming flight.”

The see above is saying "it works like regular AMS", but the optional rule is for regular AMS only.  The option basically adds the ability to make regular AMS as good as Laser AMS in that way.

Weird that LAMS gets it all the time but eh. Guess you get something for the extra heat. Thanks.
