Purely for entertainment, I have been making versions of cannon mechs, as scaled down Protomechs and Battle Armor. I call them 'Mini-me' s.
Since I plan on doing several, and they are multiple unit types, I decided I should consolidate them into one thread.

A miniaturized Timberwolf, which hunts it's prey in packs. A star of 5 of these actually outguns the Iconic clan mech, and a full star is the same weight as it was well. It even match's it's larger cousin's speed. With a star able to fire 40 LRM missiles, and having a total of 10 medium lasers, this protomech is undeniably dangerous to anyone who crosses it.
Only ever deployed accompanying timberwolves, mechwarriors derisively refer to this design as a "mini-me".

Battle Claw (Right arm) Squad
3 PPCs and a Small Laser, in a teeny tiny 2 ton package. A Bit on the slow side, but enough armor to take hits from weapons as big as it is. It is the Awesome mini-me, latest in my battlemech miniaturization project. If you do clan organization for your squads, the PPC fire even equals the damage an Awesome Battlemech can do.

It doesn't have the rear facing weapons, or any SRMs, but a point of these will add up to just about as much damage as an actual atlas... though the damage will end up spread around more, and in some cases is a bit shorter range.

I really wanted to use a ProtoMech AC on a ProtoMech without resorting to a Main Gun
I'd try to go with the A for the shadow cat the lasers, missiles even MASC should work in some matter but an AP for a proper Gauss that's another reason I went the PAC on the Shadow Hawk something with punch

The Protomech AC is a good choice; it is certainly longer range than an AP Gauss. My line of reasoning for the AP Gauss is that I look at it like "what will it do if I get 5 of these together" since protomechs are deployed, like battle armor, in points of 5. One AP Gauss might not have a lot of punch, but 5 of them do the same damage as a gauss rifle (though it is spread out and lacks the range of a real gauss rifle, which the protomech AC is much closer to), this is why it still compares favorably, in my own mind. The lower weight might also let you reduce the weight of the design to exactly 1/5 of the original's weight, allowing a full point of them to be sort of compared in the same weight class. Still I like your design, even if it isn't the exact same way I would do it. If everything were 'the way I would do it' it wouldn't be nearly as interesting a universe.

A point of these comes in under the weight of their namesake by 25 tons, and actually does more damage at an, unfortunately, shorter range. This design is also murder to infantry, unlike the loadout of the original.

Like the Awesome Mini-me, this carries miniature versions of the weapons of the original, in this case an AC-20, 2 medium lasers, and a small laser is represented by each member of the squad having a BA LB-X AC, 2 small lasers, and an ER micro laser. The main weapon, the LB-X, when all 5 members of the squad are combined, is the equivalent of an LB-20-X AC, with a bit less range. These suits have much less speed than a true hunchback, so I included a magnetic clamp system on them for ease of transport. (though I am not entirely sure if Assault battle armor can even use magnetic clamps, since they can't normally hitch a ride on omnimechs.

My first quad protomech design. Designed after the aging goliath quad mech, a point of these actually out guns the original by quite a bit. Decent at fighting in numerous situations, between machine guns, PPC, and LRM's it has a toolkit to handle many opponents.

A clan based battle armor, working in a point of 5. The point has slightly higher overall damage than the Jenner Battlemech at the same range, same armor as an elemental, and a ground speed of 5, the fastest a medium battle armor can go. While it isn't quite as fast as it's predecessor, it can mechanize on things that are. Not many light omnimech pilots would turn down the chance to pack a Jenner's firepower onto their mech as well as their own.
