The Micheal Norman was almost a loss, i actualled rolled on a dice roller app and this ship rolled a 59%
the asteroid she hit damaged her, ripped her open to space but her structural integrity survived, barely.

Congress Noble House, Long March:   The Noble House actually crash landed on a huge asteroid creating a huge scar in its wake.    she Rolled a 61% on salvage.    Long March, she plowed nose first into an asteroid and wedged herself in.   she rolled a 55% on salvage.

Khan McEvedy was trembling.   Her nerves were degenerating faster than the Scientist and Doctors could find a cure.   She knew her time was coming.    She sent for Adolph, the Loremaster, Alpha Commander.    After several hours of waiting Khan McEvedy told the assembled Clan leaders "in a few moments i will no longer be alive.   I am not waiting to waste away." With that she walked in to her quarters.    1 hour later she was gone.

Khan Randall Hallis and SaKhan David Cameron won the Khan n SaKhan positions.   Adolph Cameron died in the Trials for the Khanship.     Both Khan and SaKhan reviewed the historical disc handed down to each Khans and were amazed at the daring and audacity of the plans.

Clan output was at a high mark, enough material was being produced to replace losses and outfit a galaxy per year.   Warship/Jumpship/Dropship/Aerofighter production was high as well.  Serious attention to procuring a Nightlord Battleship was a topic of high importance.    Discussion of taking a unsued Trial of Founding to bring about the plans to fruition.

Clan Wolverine continued with our policy to keep under the radar with the other Clans, while the Warships we gifted Clan Snow Raven and Clan Blood Spirit generated much excitement on te chatterweb, nothing came of it.   Clan Diamond Shark sought inroads with us and found us amiable to trading materials and mechs.   They sought trade for the Grimore class and we offered a trial for the design.   In 2994 Clan Diamond Shark won the design from us.

Clan Coyote with the aid of Clan Sea Fox/Diamond Shark, The Coyotes unveiled the first OmniMech in a trial against Clan Fire Mandrill.  The Mandrill Cluster was decimated in a few short hours.   Khan Jerome Hallis was said to turn pale white when the news of the battle was realised.    One month later a Clan Wolf Trinary came to Circe seeking to avenge their honor against us.   A trinary of our best warriors from Alpha Galaxy faced off against the Wolf Trinary composed of Omnimechs.   Star Captain Mike Brown led the Wolf Trinary skillfully, destroying a star of Wolverine Mechs withing 5 minutes.  Khan Hallis rallied the remaining Wolverine Warriors and plowed into the Wolf line, overuning them and discovering the weakness of the new mech.   Poor Cockpit designs lead to sever blind spots for the warriors piloting them, poor ammo linkages for AC or LRM/SRM ammo, and Myomer Bundles sundenly giving out after extended combat.   Khan Hallis seeing the Wolf Mechs showing weakness pressed his attack and quickly had his binary take down the new Omnimechs.  Leaving only a reinforced star remaining of the Wolf forces.
Star Captain Brown sought out Khan Hallis,  Soon the two were emeshed in combat,   the remaining Wolf warriors along with the Wolverine warriors created a Circle of Equals around the two combatants.   Brown using a Omni based of the Woodsman Battlemech (later to named Man O War) and Hallis using his tried and true Maurader.   after an hour of grueling combat Hallis was down to a Medium Laser and two shots of AC left,  Brown lost his Left arm weapons pods and his right arm was near gone,  but its weapon was still there (LBX-5, SRM 6).

Brown fired his weapons while trying to present his right torso to minimize his exposure to return fire.  Hallis fired his last rounds of ammo for his A/C and his medium laser while dodging the missles and LBX unsuccesfully.  Brown stipped the remaining armor of the left torso and left leg Hallis's first shot slamed into the right arm the explosion from the arm and the next round from hallis twisted brown to the left where the medium laser struck throught the weaken right rear torso armor and struck the gyro.
Brown tried desperatly to keep his mech upright and was dragged to the ground by gravity.
"Star Captain Brown is defeated. I claim as isorla the Wolf Trinary of these new Mechs."  turning of his external speaker Khan Hallis switched his radio frequency to Gamma Nine "Mech Recovery Team Nine move in and secure the damaged Mechs and be ready to give a full debrief in 4 hrs."

One Hour Later:
"Star Captain Tricia Ebon are all the Wolf warriors assembled?"

"Yes Sir, though a few didnt make it."  pointing to 4 body bags.

Addressing the Wolf warriors Khan Hallis spoke "Warriors of Clan Wolf how many will accept Bondmen?"
After the Wolf raid on us it became clear that we had not a strong enough force to hold our holding on Circe.  Khan Hallis ordered that 3 warships to station themselves so as to discourage future raids.    sending the few Omnis to the scientests for study and dissemination, Khan Hallis then set to rebuild the Touman.
the rest of the year was spent setting up two full Garrison Clusters on Circe.  The 1st and 2nd Circe Garrison Clusters began forming on September of 2854 with one trinary of mechs, 2 trinaries of infantry, 2 trianries of armor and 1 trinary of fighters each.  All members of the Garrison Clusters would be pulled from Circe population by holding a series of tests for aspiring freeborns.   For the next few years Clan Wolverine would stay the course.   The Grimore Corvette was taking shape, slowly.

   Throughout the rest of the 2850's Clan Wolverine tried to keep to themselves.  only fighting when provocked or when another clan sought their ire.  by the late 2600's the Wolverines had 7 full galaxies.  Alpha, Beta, Gamma, Delta, Epsilon, Tau and Zeta.  although not listed in their forces were the 2 garrison cluster at Circe.  the Grimore was launched in 2650.

Khan Randal Hallis silently watched the debate reach a fever pitch until Khan Kerlin Ward of Clan Wolf propsed the compromise of sending freeborn units into the Inner Sphere and reconnoiter the Great Houses and send reports detailing their status.   After the council broke up and everyone was going back to their enclaves Khan Ward was approached by Khan Hallis

"Khan Ward, if i may?, a moment of your time?"
so deep in thought Khan Ward was startled "Aff, I have wanted to seek a meeting with you and find out where Clan Wolverine stands!"

30 minutes later in the office belonging to Clan Wolf "Khan Ward, i seek you out because as we both saw, the split between those clamoring to invade and those who does not is wide and nominal allies can even fail to see the folly of the endeavor.   A new Clan is needed to add to the Councils Voice, I propose such a creation.   We have several generations of warriors from Mongoose stock, and i propose using them to create a new clan that would be an ally of those who stand with Clan Wolf.    i have a short list of possible names."

Stunned Kerlin Ward could only stare.

Khan Hallis pulled a paper out "This list is of potential names.  We cant do this by ourselves and we will need "assistance" in doing this.  We are still looked at as tainted by many and our little spat with the Burrocks and Jaguars, and our association with the Blood Spirits will shun other Clans to offer aid or assistance.  We offer Clan Wolf a Newgrange Yardship, its banged up."

   Kerlin Ward waited as the call for order was issued and the conclave began.   More rounds of discussion over the freebirth unit was argued over, finally just before the noon break Khan of the Wolverines rose and asked for the floor.   

  "Khans of Kerensky's Children, Trothkin, Friends, Foes, We once stood at 20, Chosen by the Great Father to guard, revere, cherish the Dream of the Star League.   Now we have lost 2 of our number, 1 to their own arrogance and 1 to their own destructive behavior.    Clan Wolverine proposes to return one of the lost to the fold.   Over the years Clan Wolverine has acquired 95% of former Clan Mongoose bloodnames and they have served us well and honorably.   Clan Wolverine proposes  that a New Clan be formed."   

  At first all the Khans, save Clan Wolf's were stunned, then roars of outrage from the Clan Smoke Jaguars Khans, Clan Jade Falcon supporting them with Clan Fire Mandrill.    Amid the clamor rose Kerlin Ward "Trothkin, while yes the "Former" Clan was a blot and deserved their fate, Khan Hallis has spoken truthfully.   Clan Wolf seconds the motion and stands with Clan Wolverine in this matter."

   Clan Coyote and Clan Goliath Scorpion Khans were listening closely as the two Clans were close supporters of Clan Wolf,  Clan Coyotes Khan rose and seconded the motion and Clan Goliath Scorpion thirded the motion.

  Clans Ice Hellion, Blood Spirit, Smoke Jaguar, Jade Falcon, Fire Mandrill opposed.   Clan Diamond Shark was shocked, and saw a opportunity for themselves and supported the motion, Clan Nova Cat Khans also rose in support of the motion.  Clans Cloud Cobra, Ghost Bear, Snow Raven, Steel Viper, Hell's Horses and Star Adder keep quiet and watched.

   After the Trial of Refusal that soundly defeated the loose coalition of crusader clan (Falcon, Jaguar, Mandrill, Spirits and Hellions) the former Mongoose bloodnamed were granted a 1 yr grace period to form, establish and prepare to show themselves a viable clan.    Various trials were staged all of January for the name of their Clan.   Clan Iron Mongoose was born on January 25th!    A mining world was gifted to the nascent clan.  A world named for a fictional world called Arrakis, over half the world was a desert with only a small portion of the world capable of growing plants and harboring life.  Clan Wolverine lost over 3 1/2 Galaxies of soldiers and over 2 million lower caste, but we never disbanded any of our Galaxies.   we transferred Anchorage M27b to Clan Iron Mongoose control and also began building a refit yard over Arrakis as well as building a waystation.

Founded by Jonas Martindale (Judge Advocate General of the SLDF) and Mitchell Loris (a fighter ace and master of air-to-ground combat) Clan Mongoose quickly gained a reputation as both a legal powerhouse and viscous opponent. Their Touman full of some of the best pilots the Second Exodus had to offer, Clan Mongoose quickly earned a reputation as lethal AeroSpace pilots
Relying on their preference for light and fast machinery, Khans Martindale and Loris competed early on with Clan Ice Hellion for the bulk of the light BattleMechs and Aerospace Fighters in the Clans’ arsenals. Adopting the MON-66 as the Clan’s “totem” BattleMech, the Mongoose quickly proved how lethal their fast tactics could be while engaged on the planet Circe. Joining the Nova Cats in several missions, saKhan Loris’ pilots provided much-needed air support throughout the campaign. Though their losses were steep, the Mongoose managed to avoid the level of destruction that had been afflicted upon their brethren, leaving them in a potentially powerful position.

Golden Century
The Golden Century after the death of ilKhan Kerensky was a trying time for the Mongoose. Originally poised to assume a position of strength, the politicking of the Dark Khan (Khan Walter Martindale) resulted in the destruction of the Clan.

Rebirth
     Reborn in 3001.   Clan Iron Mongoose moved to a newly found marginally habital planet called Arrakis.
 
Society

The Clan's castes cooperate with each other, enjoying generally good relations.  The warrior caste remains dominant, but its members listen to and the opinions of the civilian castes. The Clan's rank and file are Wardens

Alpha Galaxy (Iron Will) Alpha has become a showcase unit of the Clan Mongoose.  (4 clusters)

Beta Galaxy (Iron Spirit) Beta is the workhorse unit of the Clan Mongoose.  (4 clusters)

Gamma Galaxy (Stalwart Defense) acts as an intermediate between second-line and frontline forces.  (3 clusters)

Iota, weak compared to its brethren, is necessary for the defense of Mongoose holdings. Reliant on freebirths, they are much weaker at their task of defense than most warriors would admit. (3 PGC clusters)

  The training of the expeditionary force proceeded on schedule.    The new Clan Iron Mongoose already was tested and proved themselves viable by not only defeating a Smoke Jaguar attack, but also smashing a Burrock and Falcon incursion.   Losses for all 3 clans ran into 2 1/2 galaxies.    it also netted the Mongoose much material.   as the Conclave gathered, many noticed that the Diamond Sharks were obviously antsy.

  After hours of various items of discussions and details of the now forming and training of the recon force, the senior Khan of Clan Diamond Shark was acknowledged.   "My trothkin, long ago we, Clan Diamond Shark, was faced with a choice that sparked change within the Clan, we choose to change our totem and our name.   This decision was greeted with a loss of prestige and allies.  But we rebuilt, became stronger, but we always had a small voice with our clan to cling to our past.   The addition of Clan Iron Mongoose has gave Clan Diamond Shark a opening to rebuild what was lost.   In a Council of Bloodnamed, Clan Diamond Shark will return Clan Sea Fox.   Already 3 galaxies are in the process of rebuilding, with 2 more forming.   I must warn any who swim within our territories, we will watch over our kin, we will guard them until they can defend themselves."  To say Chaos erupted would be an understatement.

   To say the last few months were not eventful would be an understatement.  The Diamond Shark/Sea Fox split along with the Iron Mongoose becoming a viable clan sent shock waves throughout the Clans.    The Falcons, Spirits, Hellions and Jaguars were seething as they represented the block of "Crusaders", those who wanted to restore the SLDF by force, saw the more conservative block grow by 2.  Clan Star Adder considered themselves moderate crusader, with a very pragmatic view.   Clan Wolf began to see Clan Wolverine as short term allies, the Scorpions and the Cobras began following Clan Wolf's lead and giving Clan Wolverine more respect, Clan Coyote continued to eye us with suspicion.  Clan Nova Cat sought inroads to build better ties of trade and open roads to friendship.   Our creating a new Clan stressed our alliance with Clan Blood Spirit.

   Bringing out several designs for review was deemed necessary, the Fox, Minsk, Corvis Omni, Goth Omni, Ogotai omni and Issedone omni were taken and refurbished.    The Goth, Ogotai and Issedone were a shot in the arm for the aerospace arm.

  The review of older 'Mechs and aeor frames came at time of unrest in the Clans.   Clan Burrock began raiding us, Clan Smoke Jaguar also began Harrasing us, as well as targeting the Iron Mongoose's.   Zeta Galaxy stood strong against the Burrocks, although out numbered by they cluster size of the Burrocks, Zeta stood their ground defeating the Burrock's Epsilon Galaxy, reducing it barely a cluster of surivors.  Zeta was almost disbanned due to its heavy losses but was rebuilt with isorla.
  Clan Smoke Jaguar sent their Kappa Galaxy against us attacking the newest Galaxy Omega.  Kappa Galaxy was sent against us to retaliate for reviving Clan Mongoose.   Omega was smashed barely a cluster's worth of men survived. 
  Omega would be rebuilt and return after many months.  Clan Iron Mongoose also felt the bite of Clan Smoke Jaguar, losing almost 2 clusters worth of mechs destroyed.  No bondsmen were taken.   

  Khan Hallis worked to repair our relationship with the Blood Spirits, and opened trade with the new clan Sea Fox.   Slowly the path of mutal friendship and trade reopened with Clan Blood Spirit.

   Khan Randal Hallis was reviewing the stats of the Corvis, Lupus and Coyotl Omnis to see if anything could improve them.   Having the 3 aero Omnifighters was helping the aero arm reequip rebuilding clusters and outfitting forming second line clusters.   The Battlemechs Fox and Minsk were helping outfit secondline clusters as well.    The Stag, Stag II, Mercury II,  Firefly IIC, Falcon IIC, Archer IIC, Victor IIC, Flashman IIC, King Crab IIC, Wasp IIC
and Mongoose IIC all were set aside for rebuilding or building secondline clusters.

February 3003

Almost 1 year of training has passed for the expeditionary unit began with Goliath Scopians Heartvenom Cluster providing the necessary training.    Khan Hallis reviewed the rebuilding of Omega and Zeta, Zeta was rebuilding quickly as possible, Only Star Colonel Forth  survived of the officer corp, He was of the Ebon bloodname house and was likely to be allowed in the grand melee for the bloodname contest.  The Burrok Abtakha warriors were chaffing following their defeat, many
would be sent to a new Solahma being formed as soon as warriors replaced them.  (3 trinaries worth... 18 Mechwarriors, 7 Elementals, 10 Pilots)

Omega was for lack of better words, worse off.  The 1st Recon was disbaned and folded into the 1st Hussars, the 31st Light Horse had almost a trinary of isorla, oddly enough those former Jaguars took to their new home quite well.   Still the 1st Hussars were severaly understrength and would be until Zeta was back to 100%.  It was possible to launch an attack for the purpsose gaining isorla, but who to attack?

November 3003

The expeditionary force began loading their dropships and gathering the various freeborn to round out the large force.    only 2 trinaries of Wolverines joined the force and would send back reports when they arrived in the Inner Sphere.   

Zeta rebuilding was almost complete, each cluster was at 4 trinaries and orders were issued to return them to their garrison duties.    Resources, Materials and men were shifted to Omega to accelerate its rebuilding.
