Hello everyone.
I've decided to try my hand at some battletech fan-fiction again. I failed at a previous attempt but I think it laid the groundwork for the current story running around my head. Both are based on the Fall of Arc-Royal to the Falcons and the aftermath. With the new information in Shattered Fortress my original idea from a few years ago doesn't fit as well. But I liked some of the characters so I decided to reuse them as I build something to fit what we do know.
I've aimed for something canon accurate that could, theoretically, have been submitted for attempted publication. I only briefly had delusions as to my own ability, or Catalysts willingness to entertain an unsolicited work. Given the realities of actual commissioned and planned works and the fact that I will have to stray too close to some of the mysteries related to the Exile wolves and Shattered Fortress, I figure this board is the only way this sees the light of day. I am of the opinion that the written word should be shared even while I enjoy it for my own entertainment and development, so here we are.
I will start with the first two chapters as a hopefully effective hook. I've got one more in my hip pocket and an outline that should net the equivalent of a full length novel. I intend to keep motivated and keep at it to completion with regular posting of updates. I'm already further this time than my last attempt so we shall see ;)
Synopsis: As possibly the last Ristar to come out of the Arc-Royal Sibkos, will Lana survive the fall of her home world? Lana finds herself thrust into a situation demanding that she live up to the legacy set by her ancestors or die trying. But, what if there is a different path those in power have earmarked her for? Would Lana be willing to give up all chance of glory, remembrance, immortality,or honor to put the needs of the Clan before her own?
UPDATE: Well took a very long break. Trying to ease back in with part 1 of Chapter 19. Will see where this goes.
**Edit for removal** This was too rough, and too many Kell's present
