I never picked up a Hard Copy of Total Warfare. Maybe now is the time.

I’ll get TW and to in hardback because I use them during games. Also my first CGL printing is starting to look a little rough

I'll eventually get them in hardback because a 'friend' stole all my hardbacks.

I upgraded to TacOps sometime last year.
I'm still missing strategic, interstellar and campaign ops, of which physical copies have become hard to find over the years.

The PDF releases just don't give that haptic page flipping experience and fresh rulebook smell. :)

I bought the the revised TotalWarfare as a PDF so I could have the latest errata. It looks like all of the internal indexing has been stripped from the PDF, leaving no quick way to navigate from section to section. Was that an intentional change?

It's obviously not an issue for the print book, but it takes away from the utility of the PDF.

You don't get new-book smell from it (yet), but there are some apps that simulate page-turning and double-page display. That can be helpful sometimes as you often want to see the placement of two facing pages when referencing something. I use Goodreader for this. It's rendering engine can be a hair slower than Adobe Reader, but it's more full-featured.

Desktop, of course, has fewer screen/interface limitations but can't emulate page flipping like a touchscreen can.

Call me "old school" but I like the rulebooks of old. No "useless" industrial mechs, not much "fluff" and not so many options that it takes an hour to come up with a decent mech of your own deslgn. I stopped buying books after Master Rules revised came out. I downloaded an earlier "Total Warfare" , but didn't like a lot of the rules changes, (like partial cover, plasma weapons, airships (really?) and the like. I have the revised mech sheets book (from the MR revised), but none of the video game inspired stuff.

I would suggest waiting another week for that, as the crew are going to be off at PAX West and not checking mail much.

First new release in 9 months. I assume it has some pretty big changes after so long.

The pdf is only $14.99. The reprinted TM and SO pdfs are similarly priced.

For those of us that purchased the PDF years ago, any idea when we will get free a update link.

I've tried to contact CGL re this matter, and have not heard anything from them.

There appears to be an issue where if you bought something from the old store, it does not trigger updates. Many of us are in the same boat. Hopefully someone will be around to rectify the situation next week after PAX

FWIW: it's on my list, and has been since the updates launched. But 1) it's much more a customer service issue than a comms one, so it may actually be more effective if I steer clear; 2) I've got a bunch of other questions and notes into management, so I'm trying not to clutter their inbox.

I contacted them through the catalyst website and via their email earlier this week - still waiting for them to reply.

I've been trying to get clarity on that for two weeks now. No response from management; my LGS (Games and Stuff, Glen Burnie MD) orders everything BattleTech and they said it does not appear to be in at the distributor.

This is good news. I’ll have to waddle over to my lgs and see if they have any copies

Has anyone had luck getting a email back from CGL about the updated editions for old customers? I have sent two emails with order numbers and not heard anything back.

So, the reprint of of Total Warfare is showing up on Ebay (and apparently on Amazon with the old cover and pub date), but when my LGS tries to order through his distributor they keep saying they don't see them as being available.

Does anyone have the ISBN or Catalyst product code for the hardcover version?  My LGS owner is more than willing to carry some BattleTech product, but there seems to be a lot of confusion on the distribution end.
