Per the Remote Sensor rules on page 375 of TacOps, Sensors may spot for LRM indirect fire or Artillery attacks, but at a +3 to-hit modifier for any such attacks.

Two questions:
a) Should the passage allow Sensors to spot for 'Mech Mortars (EDIT: and Artillery Cannons) as well?
b) If they may spot for 'Mech Mortars, should the +3 to-hit modifier remain unchanged? Per TacOps page 324, the 'Mech Mortar, as-is, currently receives a +2 to-hit modifier for being shot without a spotter.

Thank you!

A: They already can, because both Mortars and Artillery Cannons already use the same procedure for indirect fire as LRMs.

B: The rules as written are correct.  If your math ends up with unspotted mortars being slightly more accurate than mortars guided by a remote sensor, you're doing it right.
