Resin broadsword and Leopard Dimensions?
« on: 18 April 2012, 20:22:38 »
How big are the Resin Broadsword, and the Resin Leopard?
And I suppose right along those lines....
Are there any other Mech Scale Dropships in the works?

I have currently started a project where I am hand building
approximately a dozen different Dropships to scale for
Mechs. (Aprox. 25 ft per Inch.) And it would be nice to
know if there are some I don't have to make myself.

The resin Broadsword and Leopard sold by IWM are map scale.  They aren't intended to be to scale with the 'Mech miniatures, they are to scale with the hexes on mapsheets.  They are cool pieces of scenery but they are way smaller than you are looking for.  Just estimating from memory with out digging mine out, they are probably each about 4" long.

Aww  :(   Maybe they would work for Battleforce Scale?

Oh well, I have dims to build them for Mech Scale,
I guess I will be building all of them.
Probably gonna take me a year to complete this project.

In any event, since you asked:

Leopard: 2 5/16" w x 3 3/8" long x 7/8" high

Broadsword: 2 11/16" wide x 4" long x 1 1/4" high

Measurements are without landing gear. So, not even close enough for BF mech scale...

Thanks,

Im not sure those fit into any mini scale.  But they do look nice.
Will probably add them to my collection, just because.

I am looking for Mech Scale dropships though.
Anything to cut back on what I need to build,
I am looking at about a dozen, and its going to
take me a year probably to build them all.

They make great scenery and objective markers for those of us who usually play on paper map sheets.

Is the rumor I keep seeing on here true, that they also make
a Union and Overlord of that scale?
Would love to see those, and their Dimensions as well.

They -did-. As soon as they find a suitable manufacturer to continue production, I'm sure they will.

Dimensions, without landing gear or nose comm gear:
Overlord: 3 3/4" wide x 5 3/4" tall
Union: 3 1/2" wide x 3 3/8" tall

NICE  :)  Thanks.

I am sure I can come up with a use for both.  :)

Union is almost perfect to be a K1 drop shuttle. 200T
Big enough for a single light Mech or Two light tanks.
Its a little big, but not to bad. Although it could also
work well as a 300T Medium Mech drop Pod.

And I am thinking the Overlord would work well
as a 450T Mech Drop Pod. Capacity up to 100T Mech.

Hmmm,  Ok must do some digging  :)

Regardless, I need to get at least one of each, they look very nice.  :)
