Thrust
« on: 05 February 2019, 10:08:23 »
I've started looking into Aerospace rules and notice that it mentions thrust regularly. I'm pretty sure in TW, you can accelerate using thrust points to increase your current velocity. Is there a similar mechanic here in AS? I cant seem to find any indicator.

Also is Thrust used when trying to calculate engagement control? I think I saw this listed in examples, but isn't really laid out in the actual text of my rulebook.

Aerospace is very abstract in AS.  There is no velocity.  A Thrust 10+ unit can move two zones per turn (AS p54).  A Thrust 7+ unit can move two zones per turn if it starts the turn in the Outer or Middle Rings (from errata).  A Thrust 6- unit only moves one zone per turn.
Thrust is used to determine the range in air-to-air combat.  p59 under Determine Range. The higher thrust unit is more likely to be able to dictate the range used in air-to-air combat.
