I Think the general consensus is that the Omnis found in TRO 3058 are the first-generation, and everything else was able to draw on the lessons of those 'mechs. The rest are a bit blurry...I'd say offhand, any found in 3060-67 are 2nd gen, the Celestials are 3rd gen, and post-Jihad are 4th. That's probably a matter of taste, though.

That's pretty much how I see it too...it makes a good amount of sense for things to be organized that way.

I have to admit that I'm really tempted to throw my hat in the ring on the Hammer, but the quality the likes of Hellbie, GreekFire, et al put out is a little daunting.  Call it a maybe for me?

Is Hauptmann a first or second gen IS Omni? This is kind of relevant, as i was going to call it a first generation 'mech in my forthcoming (estimated this year :P) article. My logic is that the Word of Blake's Celestial-series are real second generation IS Omnis, and anything post-Jihad is third generation.
Is there official distinction between Omni generations?

Personally I'd call the Celestial-series third generation. The Hauptmann is second generation. I define the first generation as "appeared in TRO 3058"

Do it!! Variety is the spice of life. It's always great to have more writers here.

I'll do one for the Raptor if no one else wants to take it.

Sounds good!

Pffft, Hell no.  I wouldn't know a good Mech if it bit me in my boney zombie butt.  I'm in this for the setting.  But I love reading about what makes a Mech good, less good, or quirky.  And you guys do a fantastic job of it, and a bunch of the upcomming Mechs are ones I've always liked for one reason or another.

Oh pff...I thought you were joking about all of the "your name here" entries.
Gonna have to delay the Albatross by one more day. Huge day of work with massive overtime that I'm still working on, don't have the time to finish it up tonight.

No worries I'll put the Adder/Puma up as a filler, its a fairly small article but I hope folks enjoy it.

A bit of an odd request; The Parash? I've never seen much about it anywhere, and it seems to be a lesser-known design.

Problem is that its a pure filler article, its got 2 variants and there's only so much you can go on about that re the Parash.

Putting in another triple OmniMech request. They are:

Firestarter (Standard and Omni versions)

Blackjack (Standard and Omni versions)

Savage Wolf/Mad Cat Mk IV (Omni and Prototype versions)

Putting in another triple OmniMech request.

...

Savage Wolf/Mad Cat Mk IV (Omni and Prototype versions)

And this one right here I'm grabbing. I think I've played with it enough by now to feel ready to tackle it.

If you guys need to write up a filler article, the Falconer only has two variants.

I think I'll have time for one more article before I become stupendously busy, so I'll take the Jupiter unless someone snagged it and I didn't notice.

Excellent article for Optimus Prime :)

I'm also doing a 'personal log' kind of write up about the Orca that when is done could be used in the future.
