Pacific North West head count.
« on: 01 March 2012, 06:02:54 »
If you're from glorious Cascadia, post here... Maybe we can use this thread as a way to organize our various shenanigans and maybe even get together for games, if people are willing to make the drive. I'm from Vancouver, British Columbia, but I make a lot of trips to Bellingham and beyond on a fairly regular basis. Usually make a point of dropping by Games and Things to flash some Benjamins, if ya nah meen. B)

I am in Seattle and have an RPG Battletech group running for about 20 years. Were currently looking for one more player.

My group has in the past run a few Battletech events at Norwestcon but nothing recently.

Just head up to Lake Stevens and cajole the CGL guys to play with you.

Seriously we have been considering an open house for this purpose. Introduce people to the 2D10.
At the very least get a commando to come. Its more about scheduling when to do it.

Moses Lake area here, smack dab in the middle, surrounded by sagebrush. Don't know of anyone else in this area who plays and is aware of these boards. I was attempting to make it up to Spokane last year for some scheduled games at Merlyns, but that equals 4 hours of driving round trip from where I'm at.

Most of the Portland group plays at Guardian Games over on the east side of the city.

 Ok Sheldon Cooper lol.

We had a great game today here in tacoma. Clan Goliath Scorpion vs. The Eridani Light Horse on Huntress. Huge game, 47000 bv 2. 5 hour game. The Scorps won but the ELH put up a damn good fight. It was touch and go a few turns but when we called it the outcome was pretty clear.

I run the games here in Portland at Guardian Games every Monday evening. It's a weird play time, but I work in retail so weekend games are out for me. There is another Catalyst demo team member here and he runs games up in Gresham. Then there's another gaming group that meets occasionally on Sunday's at Epic Games. So we've got plenty of Battletech to wet your whistle.

Then we've got our big Con coming up in Vancouver Washington. This year it's all about the Clan War of Reaving. That happens at Gamestorm March 22-25th.

All right, I'm going to be in the Seattle area Sunday, March 25th and staying through Tuesday night March 27th. Anyone have anything scheduled they wouldn't mind an extra at? My evenings will be free, my days will be taken up by that old four letter word...work. If nothing is going on, I'll just hit up a few shops in the area. I already have MuGu on the list, any others to suggest?

Ah that explains it.  Last I knew you guys were doing that on Tuesdays and nothing was going on last time I was there and it was a Tuesday at the specified time.

Any rate Guardian Games is the closest game shop that actually carries minis so you may catch me and Liam's Ghost down there now and again.  Getting us to actually show up to a game though?  That may be a minor miracle.

My current belief is that if you want to play a game at a certain place then you'll make the time. I stopped trying to cajole people into coming to the games. It's a waste of my time. You'll either show up or you won't.

But thanks for supporting Guardian Games. Angel's got a nice place and she supports us, which is hard to come by these days.

Take a drive through the downtown area and you'll know what I'm talking about. Tried to find a game store near Pike street... Or Pine, I can't remember anymore. It was a gong show. I should've been more specific, I was not amused by downtown Seattle. Suffice it to say, I never found the store I was looking for and I got stuck behind a train on the way to the waterfront for dinner at Elliot's, which is not quite as awesome as Rodney's oyster house back home. So, I was not amused by Seattle's down town* at all.

Not completely sure of all their products, but am told they are a decent store.

Then you obviously don't drive truck in the port lol.

I drive a bombcart at Deltaport just north of the line... I feel sorry for you truckers some times. Other times I get really annoyed because you guys don't know the proper etiquette because you aren't driving around the place for six hours a day like me. The Port of Seattle was also depressingly empty for the time I spent there and I felt bad for my bros.

THERE IS a game store in downtown... Check out Gamma Ray Games. I have seen it multiple times..

411 E Pine Street, Seattle, WA 98122
gammaraygamestore.com

Not completely sure of all their products, but am told they are a decent store.

Yeah, that was the one I was looking for... But then I got angry and went back to the hotel.

We have a game coming up next friday or saturday.I'm not sure which day we will do it. It's not going to be too big, at least not as big as the last one...3 companies of ELH on a CGS trinary...that was brutal.

It's going to be CJF hitting the Lyran part of the FedCom. The Falcons have almost taken the planet and the 6Th Donegal Guard( why the 6th you ask? Because I'm a 6th DG player) is holding the last space port to help get civilians and a resource convoy out.

If any one wants to game let me know.

And when you're done, you can all head over to the Tacoma Dome and watch The Grave Digger ruin some stuff. All I really know about the Tacoma Dome is motocross and monster trucks.

Anyone playing at Gamers Haven in Spokane Valley? I only live about 2 blocks from it and just found out that they moved from postfalls to their present address On North Pines Road just north of I-90 behind the 7-Eleven. And that TMC cards that JC plays at is about half a mile to the west.
