I'd like to know what Classics are in it. I'm betting on the Valkyrie, Rifleman and Marauder myself

I don't think I want to answer that one just yet.  So instead I'll say there are several unique mechwarriors with Valkyries.  And at least one with a Rifleman and at least one with a Marauder. *

*Standard disclaimer on any not yet released product, Final results may vary.

Will the Triple-F franchise get its own sidebar?  :)
The Triple-F franchise has it's own sidebar, in their stores.  There's no sidebar for them in CM: Davion.  The Federated Suns has not (yet) weaponized the Triple-F franchise (in the Combat Manual's time frame).

The writer for House Kurita mentioned they got to resolve the canon conflict on the Amphigean LAG regiments. Did you get to mKe any canon contributions like that?
The majority of the interesting writing (and overall word count) is done by Geoff Swift, for all the Combat Manauls so far (and for Davion).  Usually my job, in addition to the rules writing, is to take Geoff's ideas and make sure they work rules wise and try to keep them balanced (against some sort of overall guidelines).  For example, most of the new command abilities' are Geoff's ideas and sometimes he has the rules from the beginning, sometimes they need a bit of a tweak, and sometimes I make the rules for them. And then Ray keeps us in line and tweaks/fills in where he wants parts of it to go (along with all the non-writing work).
I worry I should have reigned in the Kestrel Grenadiers' unique mechwarrior, but you've still got to pay for that thing (82 PV!)

Oh, will there be a picture of Hanse Davion holding Max Liao in a headlock?
I haven't seen any of the CM: Davion artwork that everybody else hasn't already seen. So...maybe? :)

I just remembered that the Dragonslayers were wiped out in the early Succession Wars. Dammit.

The mercenary unit was wiped out in the Succession Wars? Huh? Did you mean the Dragonlords?

That sounds right. I know the Dragonslayers were in FM: Mercs, though not sure how they fared in the Jihad later. They certainly were around in the Civil War era though (in the FWL, or something like that? My books aren't handy)

Well, it stands to reason that there is going to be a little bit of overlap no matter what happens.

There are only, what, 22 unseen Inner Sphere mechs?  If the Classics just refresh those designs, AND the Combat manuals include four Classics each, AND both of the Succession Wars books include some Classics designs, AND each of the five major Inner Sphere houses gets their own book, then some things are going to have to show up more than once.

That question came up at the GenCon panel this year and the answer that was given was: BattleMaster, Valkyrie, Marauder, Rifleman. I suppose that could change, but that seems like a good list so I wouldn't expect it to.

Hmm.  Maybe two teasers.
Each House gets their own, unique Special Command Ability that is an available choice to any of its own armies, but not to anyone else.  For Kurita, it was Warrior Code.  For Davion, it is Cavalry.

And there are new Special Pilot Abilities as well.  One of them is Float Like a Butterfly.  (There's no Sting Like a Bee, at least so far.)

The Battlemaster was in CM: Kurita

That doesn't mean it can't also be in CM: Davion.  The Locust, Wasp and Wolverine were in First Succession War despite being in Combat Manuals as well, so there is a precedent.

counting the Valkyrie (also in 1stSW), Marauder, and Rifleman, that leaves 11 of the original 22 unseen that haven't been featured in combat manuals. With at least Marik, Liao, and Steiner left (plus comstar and maybe periphery?), there are going to be repeats if they stick to four per CM.

Well there are still some 3055 unseens and the LAMs that could be added if needed.

Not at this time.

I may confirm some designs as we get closer.

So... does "near" mean a particular time-frame in the BattleTech universe, or are you describing real time? :)

What I mean is—and you can see why the language is imprecise—that there are either any scheduled nor in-development projects where those designs fit (and I'll throw in the caveat 'or where we have the time or resources to include them').

Honestly, I just thought of something in Combat Manual: Steiner which will be mildly interesting which didn't really get covered before.. and what we have is after they were restructured anyway.

The Lyran March Militia units.
