I can't wait hear what BattleMech Manual is suppose to be about.  I suppose it's not like TRO but something like one.

Coming Today (but maybe tomorrow)...

Spotlight: Crescent Hawks

For every Kell Hounds or Wolf’s Dragoons, there are a hundred similar outfits that are just as talented—and just as deadly—that you have never heard of. Or worse, you have not heard enough. Sure, the glory hounds who make the evening tri-vid news are movers and shakers, and can change national borders whenever they want, but they’re not the only ones. For every Eridani Light Horse brigade, there is a mercenary crew with a storied battlefield history just as spectacular. These are the unit commands that have gone largely unnoticed in the long, bloody history of the Inner Sphere, their stories untold or nearly forgotten. Take a closer look at the battles and events that have shaped the human sphere, and you’ll find even two-bit troops like Wilson’s Hussars have made a difference.

Product includes a Unit History, Characters, Unit Snapshots, and Mission Tracks.

Be interesting to see if this is a revisitation of the phonebook concept or if they've got something else in mind. I look forward to hearing from others here what it turns out to be.

Phonebook with a twist, with the book supporting multiple rule and play types.

from what I understand it is far reaching, from inception to dissolution or 3150, whichever comes first

That wouldn't fit the description of a "snapshot" then.

The unit snapshots are part of the product, not all of the product.  And unit snapshots was plural.

I saw what you did there  ;)

One question I'd asked before -- is it likely that we'll get anything on the PHX-LAM, as the unit is key to the Hawks' mythology?

The P-Hawk LAM and all the other old school LAMs were in TRO: 3085.

And I've been throwing my wallet at the screen all day. Nothings happening...I think somethings broke... :D

I recline on my air bed corrected!

So will there be Classics art of the famous Crescent Hawks Phoenix Hawk LAM?

I have no idea.  Even when I'm working on a project, I usually don't see the art till the same time everybody else does.

Technically speaking, that's the MKI, not the (Unseen) PHX-HK2 that is used in the CH roster.

Technically yes, but I believe at the time TPTB said the art was also replacement for the Unseen LAMs as well, or at least as close as we were going to get. (Though of course I may be mistaken.)

Maybe as much of a replacement as the Primitives were intended to be prior to the nuSeen announcement. I don't remember if nuSeen LAM artwork was announced, but the HKI does not resemble the HK2.
Quote from: TRO:3085, p. 300
Variants
Prior to the creation of the HK2 series—which modified the Phoenix Hawk to more closely resemble its namesake—a single variant of the HK1 was created.

From what HBS's Q&A thing, they Mr. Bills said that they were studying when to roll out the "other" unseens when question came up about the LAMs and IICs.

I really hope they hold off Golden Century to put the IICs inthere.  Its most commonsense place put them unless their doing Combat Manuals for the individual Clan factions (Crusaders/Warden Clans)

I wonder if the MechManual might include complete classic NuSeen "TRO" along with all 'Mech rules, construction rules and equipment. Would be kind of a logical place, since i doubt Second Succession War will include all the missing ones with line-art. Sort of "Next step from the introductory box set!".

There's currently no plans to have any sort of TRO in the Manual.

Right. Back to waiting impatiently and trying to come up with ideas where we might see the rest/all of the classics.

Couple points. Redesigns for the IICs are pretty low down in priority. LAMs dead last, to the point that there isn't even a whiff of intention there.

I really hope they hold off Golden Century to put the IICs inthere.
You may think so simply from the title. However this product isn't a vehicle for that, and to make it so would mean scrapping a good deal of work that already went into it while shelving it for about another year (maybe more), and then charging about double what the book was projected to cost.
