Ultra Mode rule, am I missing?
« on: 13 September 2016, 16:35:44 »
I know several 'house' or fan based rules are in a tab for options on UACs- I particularly like using the THN for the 2nd roll.

I know people have talked about them 'unjamming' like RACs, thought I had seen someone in a server talk about that being a optional rule like the UAC double tap . . . but I cannot find it.  Am I missing it?

It should be there and was pretty close to the THC rule you're already using if things haven't moved around since the last time I was in there.

I think it is in the same tab as the rapidfire AC rule. Just go down toward the bottom where the other unofficial rules are in the advanced combat tab I think. Or do a search for ultra and it might pop up that way. Remember the search tab??  :P

I use that one and if I remember it is right below the ultra's fire twice check box.
A search for unjam should grab it.

The rule is definitely there as I use it in all of my games.  I'm happy the MegaMek game option menu has a search box on it since I don't remember exactly where it is :)

My own game doesn't have advanced tech (usually), as its Nov 3027.

However, I do turn on the option to double fire autocannons (with the higher jam and explode chance).  Don't use it much due to my AC mechs having a habit of exploding within 3 matches.

Been through 5 MAD-3Rs from that problem.

Rapid fire works extremely well with infantry field gunners. In my Age of War campaign I setup a nasty fire zone with 3 platoons of them. Took out a large number of enemy tanks before having to retreat.

Yeah, I like having the Rapid Fire rules in effect for the 3060s games I play in the Chaos March.  The Vedettes, Scorpions and left over 3025 AC designs get better with it . . . just have to watch when you use it.  I have had a Vedette's gun explode once.
