List of Dead Worlds - FedSuns Edition
« on: 22 August 2020, 06:35:23 »
So for a project I've got in mind I needed a list of all dead worlds in the FedSuns, so that's just what I've just finished compiling, and I thought that other's might find this useful. Now be warned I used gruese.de website for this, as it gives a map of the IS in 3025(?) using custom, angular borders, probably to make things easier, but with lost/hidden worlds as grey dots, making them somewhat easy to spot, so here's a list of all 177 lost/hidden worlds within the border of the Fedsuns, along it's border with the TC, or just across the border into other realms.

You have at least one Terran Hegemony world in that list (New Stevens).  What maps did you compare?

Borders used are of 3025, not earlier.

I don't think https://www.gruese.de/innersphere/ compares it's 3025 map to any specific other map.

Looking at the Succession war vol 1 book the definition of dead ranges wildly  .  Abandoned,  starvation,  war , ect . Marginal  worlds not on heavily trafficked jump route with Olympus recharge stations was just not worth not abandoning as numbers of jump ship got reduced and logistics of maximizing transport of goods along the most efficient jump lanes was the best way to fuel a military industrial complex.  I am more interested  in which a decision to resettle after jump ships were being built to reopen  formally abandoned worlds .

I would go with worlds that need little work, just more people brought in, once that done try repairing more damaged worlds.

Man everytime I see a list like this I wonder why do the Houses fight over worlds when there are so many to reclaim or recolonize.

Not really all that useful as it doesn't tell us which worlds died for which reasons.

Because they aren't in a 4X game, it would take centuries for this sort of strategy to pay off, also they where fighting often for dominance.

Lockdale was also a Terran world. It was the provincial capital.
