Chocolates and gold.
When out of his 'Mech, my character no longer takes part in any fighting.

The gold is a down payment for his ransom.

A suitcase nuke and a portable rocket launcher with a 6 mile range.

Sure, a pancor jackhammer is great if you don't mind running out of ammo after 2 trigger pulls.

I'll take a semi-auto shotgun thank you.

Select Fire;  Single, Burst, Auto!  Single fire or burst would be My choice. Depending on if I had one or a number of enemy coming my way!

In general, laser weapons are way out of the price range of the average Mechwarrior.  That's why I stick with the slugthowers.
Most characters could afford one unless they got the poverty trait...
They're also cheaper in the long run.

In any case, I'd keep explody-bits far away from my 'Mech's Roosterden.
So a laser pistol or small laser rifle, and a katana/daisho (they make great kitchen knives (my sword can cut through armour and still slice a tomato!)).
For some reason, I feel like throwing in an 60-feet rope and an 11-foot pole into the mix...
And a bag of marbles.

Do keep equipment ratings in mind.  Laser pisols are great and all, but unless you drop a few hundred XP into Equipped
Or get it with the appropriate lifepaths.

I can do better.  :P
The Saiga-12K[/ur].

How is it better? Because it looks like an AK.
It can also come with a 30-shell detachable drum magazine.

Glory to the Combine Snow Lily Empire!

I'll take what Max has because...

this is how I play Battletech!

ATOW page 268.

In all seriousness I agree with what has already been said above; if you eject\bail just run before the BA finds you and plays catch with your body.
Light Assault Group - An Orwellian appelation applied by the Draconis Combine to troops haphazardly equipped with whatever expendable equipment was lying around the maintenance yard, for the purpose of throwing their lives away for the greater glory of the Dragon, see also Human Bombs.

If I'm really wanting to get a last huzzah in...paintballs.

Loaded with something stickier (I'm thinking tar or pitch) I might be able to hit a jeep's windshield, shoot the occupants with my pistol, stash the bodies in the back, and convince everyone we were all killed so nobody shoots at me for the rest of the fight. Also helpful for partially blinding battlearmor to aid in your escape.
Subtlety is for those who lack a bigger gun.
