Poaching in the Inner Sphere

Odd question. Which IS faction to include Periphery factions would likely condone or turn a blind eye to poaching?

By poaching do you mean game poaching? I'd guess that's likely regulated by the individual planets.

The only instance of poaching I could find on Sarna was on Brisbane in the Taurian Concordat. My guess is that the Cancordat probably isn't thrilled with it since Brisbane as administered by the Calderon family. I suspect that there's no extradition between the Federated Suns and the Concordat, if that helps.

Any planet that's got a native species that's tasty, thought to have medicinal value (whether real or imagined), or just seen as a status symbol will have poaching.

Depends on the Successor State and region. In Lyran, FedSuns, and FWL Core Worlds, poaching is looked as "Not our thing, dear," by polite society. In Outback/Periphery border regions, it's going to be a problem. Also, they type of game will matter.

Deer type animals would be frowned upon, but charismatic megafauna more likely. I expect there to be the occasional safari trip in the Inner Sphere. Here's an idea for a Time of War: the PC's are escorting an upper class politician-hunter, who likes to get his hands dirty cleaning things up. The PC's are mercs hired to keep him alive at any cost.

I would check the world of Tabayama. One of the nobles had a fondness for cute little deer and well....

The Nero Wolfe way.  If scrambling eggs takes less than forty minutes, you are doing it wrong.
I'm not sure how long you've been around on the forums, though you have a thousand posts. Never take anything JKlantern says seriously unless it's about food.

The Rim Collection and Able's Aces probably take a dim view of unauthorized visitors to and poaching of the megafauna on Hunter's Paradise.  The only big game hunters allowed there must certainly pay for the privilege.

Engadine's apex predator is hunted in annual hunts from teams across the sector.  Sometimes the hunters get the prey . . . sometimes it gets the team of hunters.

I think that they're probably upset by this because unauthorised visitors bring their own weapons on the hunt - and most of the creatures deemed worthy of hunting on Hunter's Paradise require BattleMechs to hunt them with fair odds of success.

Speaking of fauna that can challenge mechs... the Branths of Lopez are conserved by a group called the Branthkeepers, who would obviously take a dim view of anyone trying to abscond with a live or dead Branth without permission.

OP didn't specify an era.  Give me a little credit, dude.  ;)

Don't get caught in the Dominion poaching Ghost Bears.

I suspect it might be easier to define nations that do care about poaching instead of those who don't.

Hmmmm... that would be hilarious. If I could find a way to GM a campaign where the players get hired to try and find the ideal animal for poaching, but they totally misunderstand the contract... that would be great.

Can you imagine the Trial . . . super-rich big game hunter hires some mercs to issue a Trial of Possession for the right to hunt one Ghost Bear and take the carcass?

First, they would have to make it to Alshain since that is the only IS world I recall has them . . . and then who answers the Trial?

. . . and then who answers the Trial?

A nuke warhead? The entire tiuman of the ghost bears?

Or a single ghost bear warrior, since they are trying to hunt him anyway
