NEVER SHALL WE DIE - The Vanquisher
« on: 12 March 2021, 15:53:07 »
We are the Hands of the Master.
We are the Will of the Blessed Blake.
We are the saviors of humanity.

seriously when I was looking over the stats of the Vanquisher the other day I thought - well that looks like a Archangel and indeed what you can do with the VQR-5V you can do with a Archangel as well.
and suddenly I got flashed - I needed to reinvent all the Mechs - while its not finished I'm extremly proud to show you my attempt on the Vanquisher (this is my 2nd Mech - well ok if that Lightray (2years ago count) the 3rd.

However I'm not so sure about the VQR-2B
left or right?

Moar please.  :D That looks ridiculously good. Can you still call that CAD (or is CAD so old now it's like Life Magazine?)

I think the left one looks cleaner (our left, not the 'mech's).

I like the staggered look on the Mech's left better

That looks mean. It also looks like it can poptart like The B33f himself (or in Cannon terms, take advantage of well scaled perimeter walls)...

Sold on the top half, but not on the bottom - those legs are too long for a duck-waddler like the Vanq, IMHO.

Hmmm... speaking of the legs... the thigh on the back leg seems quite a bit shorter than the forward one...  :-\

Hm no the legs are using the same parts with the same armature bones.
But for better assemblies I plan to make them multi-parts. So it might be necessary to make them thicker.
Also I missed the feet completely,  well would be a time challenge to finish it in the March of Robots

not photoshopped.... rendered... with a to low resolution HDRI picture... but doesn't the grass looks great? I made grass - forget the Mech look at the gras.
The ability to add dirt is scratches and more chipped paint is limited by my computer, and looking over the shoulder of the internal work for Hired Steel I know what else is missing on the picture. (BTW your left or the left on the picture?)

The left of the 'mech in the picture.  That foot is blended behind the grass just fine.  The other foot seems to have an artificial outline.

it needs.... foot prints... and dirt, dripping from the toes. achieve that and your optical illusion will work wonders...

Wow, real nice.
After seeing this, i went to look the Vanquisher's stats and was like "this is actually pretty nice", then to Sarna.net to check where the 'Mech was featured... to be greeted by that horrible original art. My mind had already replaced the Vanquisher with Hptm. Streiger version.
Please, you need to get in touch with CGL/Scroggins and get them make this official.

Can you share them if they are not for sale?  Or only if they are of non-cannon designs such as the ones for the fan projects?

It appeared more like classic art, verses a model for mini making.

Well, I started to make 3d models to create artwork for my "own" universe. But because I had little experience and no talent when it came to drawing, I started with BattleTech projects.
Till 2018 I had not the means to create printable files, in 2019 I did my first and lost somehow the reason why I started to do 3d models in the first place.

As a 3d print file you need to do a lot stuff different compared to a "pure" render or high poly artwork - that might be used for textures, details on the mini are ok for high resolution prints, but of course much larger then they should be.

Anyhow: a line art:
