Bruin Mini?
« on: 10 June 2014, 22:34:23 »
I saw a Bruin painted up on CSO, but I can't find a record of the mini being released either from IWM's store or any other online store, but the CSO page doesn't list it as a custom built mini.

Is it actually for sale yet or not?

Keep in mind that's when it goes to distribution. It will pop up on the website a few weeks later.

That's the 2nd "Sneek Preview" mini I've decided to buy because of phlop!   O0  I think the Doloire was the first.  I was already leaning heavily towards the Lament when I saw his, and that kicked me into buying 4 of them.   :D

The Doloire was painted by Savage Coyote, I believe. Mine have been the Lament and the Bruin. Thanks for the kind words.  O0

Still, the "Sneak Peeks" have led me to wanting 2 minis I wasn't initially planning on buying, and tipped the scales for a 3rd I wasn't 100% "Sold" on yet.   O0

Yes, the paint jobs also convinced me of the Lament and Dragon II.  The Bruin looks like a gorgeous mini and the paint job on that just confirmed it.

So according to the just-updated 2014 releases list, the Bruin was supposed to be available starting July 14th but I'm not finding it for sale anywhere yet.  Was it actually released or did it get delayed?

The Bruin is shipping to me tonight per IWM for my online store. I expect they will be delivered either Monday or Tuesday. It will be another month before they are online at IWM. IWM has been backed up due to GenCon so the new releases (minus the Vulpes as it was pushed to September) are finally shipping as of today.

Haha, no problem!  Glad my brushwork helped to sell the miniature to you!  It was fun to paint none-the-less! :)

More like a 6 to 8 weeks later, at a minimum.  The last batch of minis that popped up were almost 3 months after general distribution.

I'm actually considering doing a whole star and numbering them.  Trying to figure out 5 numbers though is tricky.  We have 7, 77, and the last 3 I'm mulling over.

A lot of FLGS have this issue unfortunately.  I've tried to help, but the thing is. Some of the FLGS have to be willing go to source verses all in one distributors consulting their bills.  My primary FLGS is barely hanging in there, only Alliance, who arguably will still carry IWM and books if there enough people buying them in bulk, not cherry picking.  Its tough, I've tried get them go directly to the man/woman at Iron wind Metals.

Hopefully, my FLG will bring in the Bruin for me..

Mine came into my FLGS on Monday the 18th, and in my hot little hands on Tuesday the 19th.

And is now sitting with the other 59 minis I have set aside waiting to be worked on until my game master's minis are built, cuz I know what side of my bread is buttered :)

The thing that really surprised me about the Bruin was just how small it is.  It isn't a tiny mini, but it's a lot smaller than I was anticipating: it's actually smaller than a Marshal or Thunder mini, for example.

Ok, so I'm trying to assemble the mini and I'm stuck on the arms. Which is the correct direction for the tiny arms to connect the guns to the torso?
Why not Zoidberg?
