Oh do tell what you did! I emjoyed playing Rebellion and building the Death Star. Though having an army of wookies as the rebels was always a blast :)
Great Old Games has had it for about a year.  On Windows 10, certain icons display upside down and other functions don't seem to work as well as I remember.

I wish they had finished up the Bad Batch episodes of The Clone Wars and released them with season 6...not only did this arc intro some cool clones, it also revealed that Echo survived the Citadel...oh and the Jesse also got advanced to ARC Trooper as well...

Still have my cd-rom so not going to buy it a second time. It was fun but not worth more money unlike MechWarrior 2 Mercs which I WOULD buy again.

Found it in a drawer in my bedroom. Thought I lost it years back. Tried to get it to run on 7 failed but I found a Youtube video on getting it to work. Halfway through my first Imperial Campaign now and have conquered half the Universe already. Oh, and I used the Death Star to blow up Coruscant. Rebel Scum can't take it if its rubble!

If this doesn't have at least one vaguely bovine Sith trying to chase Luke Skywalker into a body of water, I will be gravely disappointed.

Generic?

I've figured that the X-Wing was a medium fighter while the TIE is an ultra-light.
Considering how much Star Wars space combat emulates WWII movies, I think of it more like carrier aircraft.

The normal TIE is a Zero. Light, maneuverable, and with good firepower, but fragile.
The X-Wing is more like a Hellcat. Heavier, thicker armor, and not as maneuverable, but made up for with training/teamwork. Also capable of using munitions.

Scorched Earth Tactics are perfectly valid. Especially when Vader is onboard with a captive Mon Mothma and Luke Skywalker and actually succeeds in killing the Emperor.

You know what they say, don't you? About how us MechWarriors are the modern knights errant, how warfare has become civilized now that we have to abide by conventions and rules of war. Don't believe it.

Just add a warning about the content. Rule 2 was changed a little while ago.

Good news is the lab boys say the symptoms of asbestos poisoning show an immediate latency of 44.6 years. So if you're thirty or over you're laughing. Worst case scenario you miss out on a few rounds of canasta, plus you've forwarded the cause of science by three centuries. I punch those numbers into my calculator, it makes a happy face.

A good rule of thumb I go by: If I'm linking to Cracked, it needs a warning. ;)

Most probably though sometimes I forget too. (We mods have even warned one another over such things... it happens.) In this case the one curse word is passed through our filter as basically PG-13. So I'll give a pass this time and say thanks for referring to the rule guidance.

Always worth a PSA. NSFW does NOT mean "Nifty Site For Watching". ;)

I was at the bookstore today buying a new book and I ended up in a conversation with some guy about the old Star Wars books. Between the two of us we hatched a wonderful little theory about the Legends Universe. Palpatine set up the entire Clone Wars, Wiped out the Jedi, built up a massive warmachine and prepared the Galaxy in preperation for the Vong.

Hear me out. The Old Republic lacked a military, the Jedi were essentially useless against the Vong and there would have been no time to build a military once they showed up. And Zenoma Sekot had shown up during the Old Republic era and Tarkin did come in contact with it and reported back to his buddy Palpatine. If you look at the military Palpatine built, it essentially was the perfect force to face to Vong. Massed number of troops. Powerful warships, including Super Star Destroyers that could easily face off against Vong ships and a Death Star that would be perfect for killing World Ships in a single blow.

So essentially, Palpatine was preparing the Galaxy for a Intergalactic War. And the Rebels unknowing weakened that effort. What do you all think?

That was actually suggested in-universe.  Superweapons like the Death Star and Sun Crusher were intended to fight the Vong.

Wasn't the Sun Crusher developed after the Emperor was killed at Endor?

There was also the prototype Death Star that was found later as well IIRC.
