Overview:
The Charger-Enforcer is a Succession Wars refit created by Leftenant
Charles Davies of the Eighth Crucis Lancers. Designed after Davies
Enforcer was destroyed, he combined parts from the old 'Mech with a
captured Charger.


Capabilities:
By replacing the Charger's massive 400 rated engine with a 320 Pitban,
techs were able to free thirty tons, as much as a Javelin. From the
damaged Enforcer Techs installed the large laser and Federated
autocannon. Four of the small lasers were removed and replaced with two Medium
Lasers. The autocannon's ammuntion bay was expanded to twice the size of the
Enforcer's ammunition bay, but retained the "clip" style loading system
to facilitate quick reloading.


To handle the increased heat load, seven additional heat sinks were installed.
Two were installed in the legs to take advantage of local water sources for
additional cooling.


In addition, four more tons of armor were added to the Charger chassis
for a total of fourteen tons.


Battle History:
Leftenant Davies was very happy with his refit and remained with his lance
throughout the end of the Third Succession War. The modified Charger
performed very well with the Centurion and Enforcer 'Mechs used
by the othe rmembers of his lance. In addition the expanded autocannon
ammunition and heavy armor allowed Davies to provide more fire support for the
other members of his lance.


The only regret Davies had was the loss of jump jets; Their lack affected the
Charger's ability to move over rough terrain and in cities.

For a refit, this is a very nice design...honestly, good enough that it should be a factory design. I like it!   :thumbsup:
If at first you don't succeed, make it worth the repairman's time!

Quite interesting indeed.
Something that would work well with my CGR-1P5 variant. Though mine can jump...

I like it though I personally would have liked to keep the jumping which I would have probably had to remove some heat sinks and maybe half a ton of armor and the small laser.  Just love jumping too much.

I thought about that, especially given that the pilot originally used an Enforcer, but I decided against it because keeping the jump jets made it too much like the Victor for my tastes.

I put them there after looking at the record sheet and realizing that any critical hit on the left torso would immediately transfer to the center torso because there was nothing there. ;)

I hate it when I get an idea and then have to flush it out...

So...
After looking at the 1A1-ENF again, I thought if I could recreate it as a side variant of my 1P5 Variant mentioned above.
It turns out I could. I was able to mount the AC/10, two tons of Ammo and the Lg Laser.
All it required was the loss of two Med Lasers (the Arm mounted ones) and three Heat Sinks. That still leaves 13 HS to work with. Enough to cover either the AC & Lg Laser or the AC and Med Lasers and movement. I'd say that's reasonable enough.
