Talk about bringing a thread back from the dead !

Monday Knight Productions still makes flocked hex mats in several sizes and colors .

Just after my last previous response to this thread I purchased one of their 4X6 feet
green hex mats .
It's been fantastic  !

I've carried it on my back rolled up in an old cardboard tube with a shoulder sling to so many
games in so many locations that I've lost count of how many .

The dots aren't as bright as they were originally but they're still clearly visible .

Mind you that it's been nearly TEN YEARS since I bought it and I've never touched it up .

Other posters in this thread were completely correct about MKP  -they make good stuff .

BTW-Geohex is now back in production so you can buy newly produced hills and
combine them with the MKP mats .

My two hotzmats have stood the test of time and have survived many foldings and unfoldings, plenty of games and thankfully wore no spills.
Eric hotz was still a butt and I don't recommend buying from them.
What avarice!

Honestly if you go Neopreane you will have no intrest in felt going forward in my opinion.

If only neoprene was cheaper than felt...

Hotz is out of the business now.

Are you sure? He still has a functioning website (Copyright 2021) with contact info:

A friend has a 10"x10" plastic stencil for 1.5" hexes that I've used with Sharpies to DIY felt mats. 2 Fine Point Sharpies and 4 hours for a 4'x6' mat isn't terrible.

Got mine from them to help make terrain, and I will be altering a felt mat as well.

Not sure if mine is 10x10, but yeah I intend to use some plywood to lay it out, use thumb tacks to hold the stencil in place and go to it.
