Amphigean Auriga (Battletech PC Game)

Amphigean Auriga
“To Cover All The Aurigan Reach”

In the courts of Luthien, the Aurigan Reach is a little known quantity.  Separated from the Draconis Combine by almost the full breadth of the Federated Suns, the Aurigan Reach is isolated from the will of the dragon in almost every conceivable way.  In spite of this, the Coordinator realizes that there is much promise and potential in the Aurigan Reach.  Were the realm adequately convinced of the Davion threat, it could serve as yet another thorn in the side of the loathsome Fox.

And what better way to gain influence in the Aurigan Reach, than to secure the throne for the Aurigan Restoration?

Amphigean Agriculture Incorporated has enjoyed a long and fruitful relationship with the Draconis Combine.  Like the Dragon, the corporation sees the clear potential in the Aurigan Reach.  People need to be fed and protected, and Amphigean provides both of those services.  And there’s the rumored wreak of the Argo; an ancient example of lostech that, if found, could yield valuable insights for the corporation if recovered.

Equipped with their own small Jumpship fleet engaged in trade in Capellan space, a large number of their corporate BattleMech forces under permanent contract to the DCMS, as well as their own smaller private force, Amphigean was a unique candidate to not only provide a non-state force for the operation (probable deniability), but could smuggle that force to the Aurigan Reach with few questions asked.

A new entity was established, the Amphigean Auriga Corporation, ostensibly as an exploratory operation to investigate the acquisition of new resources.  Equipped with a small ‘mech force and a Leopard class dropship, the group was deployed to the fringes of human space to secure the Aurigan Reach for the benefit of Amphigean Agriculture Incorporated and the Draconis Combine.

Note: This is my write up for the Battletech PC game merc force I'll be RPing.  I whipped up the logo last night for fun.  The symbolism is: the shield shape is meant to merge the basic circle used in the Amphigean LAG's "Blue and Gold" logo, and the shield from the Aurigan Restoration insignia provided on Paradox's forums.  This is meant to imply partnership between Amphigean and the Restoration.  The Amphigean horn logo appears prominently, though under the (smaller) Aurigan Restoration symbol. This is meant to imply that "we are the force supporting you." but also quietly "Remember who the force is in that last sentence".  Behind all of these elements running along the circle is a shape meant to suggest a dragon in gold, symbolic of both the Combine and the Pillar of Gold (the Combine Government) being behind this operation; at the same time, the belly is turned outward, symbolizing the vulnerability of the whole operation (based on the Draconis Combine logo in the game).  The light blue hashing on the left is just a decorative element, and has no particular symbolic meaning.

It's amusing because I think this plan is gonna fall apart at the first hurdle-you want an Auriga that will get Hanse Davion's attention and be suspicious of him, but you're backing the faction that doesn't have the backing and support of the traditional periphery enemies of the Federated Suns.

Probably best to just steal the Argo and smuggle it back to the Combine.
*Insert support for fashionable faction of the week here*
