Baboon is a huge improvement.

To be fair, that was pretty much the only thing that can be done with the Baboon's look.

Kodiak - Undecided on the head, but over all, I like it.

Hellion - The LRM looks awful, but I like the rest of it. Never liked the turning head in the old art.

Pack Hunter - This doesn't even look like it belongs in Battletech. *checks Sarna* And that's apparently nothing new.  The gun looks a hell of a lot better now.

Fire Falcon - Some designs are just too far beyond redemption.

Howler - Well, if they could save this one, maybe it's worth giving the Fire Falcon another go?

Fire Falcon - Some designs are just too far beyond redemption.

And here I am, thinking that the Fire Falcon looks great.
Looks like it's getting rid of the fat, bowl-legged bird side of things while keeping the general elements of the Fire Falcon that worked.

Gotta say that I love the Howler, though. I just wanna pinch those cute chubby lil' cheeks...err, air intakes. Or whatever.

The Pack Hunter is a huge improvement, although given the mess that was its original art, that's not much of a high bar.

Really like the Hellion and Fire Falcon ones. The former suffered from an original design that was very cluttered and the latter from terrible perspective in its original TRO art that made its actual shape hard to discern. Plus it really gets over how psychotically over armed the Prime is

Wish the Hellion did not have the Supernova nose grafted on its chest, the LRM10 is off looking.

Kodiak's feet . . . if they do not look like they are about to land on a Jaguar cockpit, they are wrong.

The Fire Falcon looks like pieces of the Catapult K2 and Raven (or II) put together.

The LRM-10 on the Hellion was always the worst part of it, in my opinion they should have put it in 2 or 3 hexagonal pods.

Glad I'm getting this one! (does double check, YUP!). Firstly, I like them all.

Kodiak: whoever said 'atlas' mask, I agree.  I hope there's more definition between legs and torso, otherwise it has a 'cut out of a block' look ... So I'd like to see a bit more rounded shape, but not to much ... Like 10% cooler *Rainbow Dash quote* My first introduction to the K was MW2: Ghost Bear's Legacy.

Hellion: Awww I kinda like the WoR look.  That skinny frame with some oversized plates.  Never noticed how that CT section makes it look like it could have been a LAM (there ya go IH's between the Hellion and the Incubus make some LAMs for your new Scorpion Empire!)

Pack Hunter: Like the Kodiak, it's torso and legs look to 'block-ish'.  Not sure about the head, I sure wouldn't want it giving me the evil eye!

Fire Falcon: YES PLEASE! I mean, NICE.  It and the Black Lanner always looked odd to me in the art (except for one really good pic).  I want to see this type of rework done for the Hoplite! (the 4Bb version makes it look good).

Howler: Chicken walker legs vs humanoid? ... meh, flip a coin.  I like the humanoid ones, but these look well done.

I love that Baboon! I always liked the original and this is a great modernization without losing the essence of Mech-Monkey fusion!!
The only one I dont like is the Pack Hunter. And I REALLY dont like this version... it doesn't look like a Mech to me. It looks like a cheesy WoB "secret weapon" AI drone or an alien hunter-killer robot. I could see it 6 inches tall in the middle of my Tau army, but not as a battlemech...
All the fest are great! Even the Hellion! Who's original look I didn't really care for very much.
So for me, the KS is still hitting it out of the park! I think there's only been 2 models I haven't liked so far.

I don’t care for the Hellion or the Pack Hunter very much.

The older, gangly designs had more character, IMO.

I never liked the older Pack Hunter or Hellion designs.

The new Pack Hunter is still iffy, but it's a mech that I basically never use so it's not a big deal to me.

Not thrilled by the new Kodiak.  Looks too much like the Kodiak II now.

Kodiak's feet . . . if they do not look like they are about to land on a Jaguar cockpit, they are wrong.

I've liked all redesigns up to now, this last lot is pretty disappointing though.

Agreed on the Hellion, that chest just looks weird, and the LRM 10 looks more like a growth than it does a weapon system, enough to trigger a person's Trypophobia...shoulder pads are weird as hell too...

Kodiak's feet look unstable...

Pack Hunter looks more like an AI controlled robot than it does a Mech, thanks to the appearance of not having a cockpit...

I think these should go back to the table for review and amendment...

I feel similarly about the redesigns. I guess that's what happens when you grow to love what was done and its suddenly re-envisioned.  Everything certainly feel the same-ish.

Hellion appearance isn't really good to me no offense to Anthony. I think perhaps it was done because the mini-makers needed something more squarish/blockier. This is my opinion.   I like Mike Plog's version of the Hellion, since it more Mecha-like, angler, or dare i say lean?   Head on the Pack Hunter looks bad to me.  Especially those blocky antennas.

Howler looks the best among this batch of 'Mechs for the KS.

I'm glad RecGuide version of the Behemoth/Stone Rhino came out nicely, which related to the KS isn't it?

Kodiak: Looks like a Kodiak to me.

Hellion: Wow, you actually got the Hellion to look cool! I honestly never thought I would say that.

Pack Hunter: It's a good look, has allot in common with the original.

Fire Falcon: looks good so far but really like to see it in 3D.

Howler/Baboon Kaboom: Proportions that actually make sense for a 20 ton design!... damnit, now I'm going to need to bash a TZ-1 Devil and team it up with a Road Runner!

See, I was happy the Hellion was getting redone b/c the mini is a PAIN to assemble . . . I was fine with the looks, so something with a bit of change but a new easier to assemble mini?  THAT is what I was looking for . . . this is not a look I like.

I'm in this boat as well. Between this and the fact that I hardly ever use Kodiaks, if I get this Star I'll be trying to trade away the Kodiak and Pack Hunter.

I guess you could say it's kinda continuing the whole skull motif the Bears have had with their latest 'Mechs (not that that's necessarily a good thing)

You can consider the skull ‘Mechs to holdovers from the Bears’ Absorption of Mechforce North America’s “Clan Punisher.”  I mean, give the Ursus a black paint job and do the chest skull in white, and you’ve got a ride suitable for Khan Frank of the Castle Bloodhouse.

Ya I feel like all of the re-designs are upgrades. Except for the Hellion, which is more of a side-grade, since the design is basically the same just with different proportions.

Yeah, I really don't get the criticism of the Kodiak art but consider their is always similar criticism whenever new Atlas art drops, I should really not be surprised. We have 3 different flavors of Kodiak now not counting scratch build options, I think we are in a happy place.

The original Hellion seem to have a hate it or love it reaction so naturally not everyone going to agree. I use the original 3050 Omni's as my benchmark for most Clan machines so if closer to the Mist Lynx parent mech in terms of proportions, I think it's a win but people have different taste.

Well, just like with the Atlas, the Kodiak is a pretty iconic 'Mech.
And of course, there are a lot of Ghost Bear fans here, which means that people are gonna be a bit more passionate about it than they would be other 'Mechs.

Now personally, when I compare the new Kodiak art with the old sculpt, I really like it.
Certainly gets rid of that "Mr fuzzles wants a big hug" problem it had, and that's a win in my book.

I like the fact the kodiak doesn't look like it wheezes every time it talks to a subordinate.

I love all these redesign. The Kodiak was definitely not one that I wanted, but with all the rabid GB fans that exist and it's popularity in the various MechWarrior games, I totally understood its inclusion. I'm glad that it ditched the cartoony proportions in favor of something more threatening.

I don't really like the SRM launchers, but I'm going to do everything I can to turn it into a Kodiak 3 when I get mine and swap those out for another LBX muzzle.

Also, I'm going to open Crackerb0x's Home for Wayward Pack Hunters and Hellions if anyone wants to abandon theirs <3
