Can we get some more info and pics of the new battlemats. I am trying to decide what ones i want and have no real info to help me make up my mind.

Pics are from that Facebook post. Sadly due to forum limitations of 900KB TOTAL image size (as in all 4 images combined)...I've had to attach each image separately otherwise I'd do 2 batches of 4. This is after they were all resized to much smaller dimensions.

How easy is it to get these things to lay flat? If one spends a long while between games folded or rolled up, will we need to weight corners, etc, for it to lay flat?

Most neoprene mats will experience very little permanent deformation from storage. At worst you might have some curling on the inside edge (definitely roll if you have the choice) that a typical BT metal mini weight will flatten with little effort.

That's good to know, I personally haven't played on this type of material before as I usually am on actual terrain...but they are a definite watch item on my list. Hopefully Catalyst allows retailers to get their hands on them as I'd love to carry them in the store.

If you mean, which of the above grasslands maps is paired with the above alpine/savannah/lunar/desert, it looks like we can mostly make them out by the images on the store page:

Using the image numbers above, it looks like:
1/grass+8/desert
3/river+7/savannah
4/dark.grass+2/alpine
5/city+6/lunar

If you mean, which of the maps in the grasslands maps set are used in the battlemats, I don't know; I haven't yet run across images of all the maps in the grasslands set.

I was taking "The secondary side also includes brand-new maps—designed to be used together—" to mean the grasslands maps could make one giant four tall map. Sad to see this isn't true, but I am still interested in at least three of the maps.

I need to update Sarna with these!

And if they pop up with a German or at least europe-based retailer I might get one or two. Though it's indeed hard to justify the cost when playing only twice a year or so. Hmm... obvious solution would be to play more. These really look neat. Want.

:), I'm in the same boat. I ordered one because as that's all I could budget but once the new new month starts I will be ordering more. Hopefully I will be able to get my hands on a couple at Adepticon, but I'm not holding my breath.

I'd love 4 of the moonscape mats and a couple 7 or 9 hex base tiles to make a moon base objective. Recreate some of the anti pirate moon missions from the PC game!
