This are some basic infos on the Command Century of the Collegium Bellorum. A small part of a larger, inexperienced force of cadets, the Class of 3069 of the Collegium Bellorum, the Commander is the Mech Wizkid you asked about.
The five members of the command century:
Cadet Jason “The Scythe“ Smythe
DOB : 09.03.3051 (17 in 3069)
Homeplanet: Alphard/Marian Hegemony
Jason is the son of Legatus Ryan Smythe who serves in the Secunda Auxilia Cohort Secunda Legio.
As an NCO in the infantry and as a plebeian he wanted a better life for his son and bought an ancient 95 tons Banshee , an old machine with a long history dating back to the days of the Old Star League and the Terran Hegemony.
But the machine is in good shape and Cadet Smyth is dedicated and willing to learn and become worthy of the sacrifices his father made to get him a place at the Imperial School of War.
Jason started boxing in his early teens and is really good at it, it was his right hook which earned him his call sign and nickname.
Jason is a strong and tall boy of impressive physique with a Mohawk hair style adding to the warlike looks.

Cadet Finley James “Fiach Dubh” O'Connor
DOB: 04.08.3041 (28 in 3069)
Homeplanet: Laiaka/ Lyran Alliance
Finley is the oldest Cadet at the Collegium Bellorum. He was born on Laiaka in the Federated Commonwealth, now the Lyran Alliance. He became a Tech and served in the Skye Ranger Regiments. Wounded and disgusted by the FedCom Civil War as well the ongoing unrest in his home province he quit his service and left the Alliance, heading for a new life in the Periphery.
When his money ran out he found him self again stranded on Alphard , the capital of the Marian Hegemony, knowing little about the little Periphery nation and it's customs.
But O'Connor got some skill for handling him self well in social matters.
And he seems blessed by Fortuna too for he saved the famour Senator Quintus Pullo from dying in a car crash. Pullo was grateful , making Finley one of his clients, granting him a wish. Finley O'Connor had dreamed about becoming a Mechwarrior all his life and he had an intimate knowledge of mechs.
So Senator Pullo pulled some strings to gain an admission to the CBI for Finley. He took part in a Pirate Hunting Mission of the Training Cohort and managed to gain his own mech, a Raven.
The Collegium helped him to repair and modify the machine, creating a solid scouting machine.
He lost a leg in the FedCom civil war, it got replaced with a prosthetic limb.

Cadet Hayden “Messalina” Porter
DOB: 04.18.3051 (18 in the 3069)
Homeplanet: Alphard/ Marian Hegemony
Hayden is the daughter of Senator Flavius Porter. She was a spoiled brat and party girl. Her father did send her to the Collegium Bellorum as a punishment and to teach her some respect and discipline.
An idea Hayden did not appreciate at all and she turned out to be one of the worst cadet's in the history of the school.
Valerius Behrensen became her adviser in a last attempt to make a real cadet out of her and it worked. She got better and better and during some private travel under Senator Pullo she was able to claim a Mech for her self.
During a Pirate Hunt on the Magistracy planet of Thraxa she earned her self 4 kills, for example defeating a 60 ton Lancelot with a well aimed shot to the head.
Her Mech is in pristine condition, there is hardly a lack of money or connections for her.
Cadet Porter is a girl trying to taste out and enjoy living to the max still, a Patrician teenager trough and trough. But she values other virtues now too.

Cadet: Lana “Athena” Taylor
DOB 02.13.4049 (20 in 3069)
Homeplanet: Tamar/ formerly FedCom / Clan Wolf Occupation Zone
Lana Taylor was born on Tamar, Capital of the Tamar Mark of the Federated Commonwealth. Her family was a rich and well respected Noble House with lands and property on Tamar it self some near by worlds.
When the Clans came it all changed, Clan Wolf did over run the Tamar province, the planet it self too. Her family fled with some fortunes.
Lana grew up on Tharkad, capital of the Federated Commonwealth and, after the secession, of the Lyran Alliance.
At the age of 18 Lana Taylor enrolled to the Tharkad University , with Art and Performing Arts as her main studies (dancing and ballet namely if our sources are right) .
It all changed again for the girl when the Second Star League got disbanded and the Word of Blake started to let death rain down on the city and the planet in retaliation.
Lana was on of the few survivors who also managed to make it off planet, despite the bombardment and the blockade the Word was running.
Her parents and grand parents fell victim to the fury of the Zealots.
With only one living family member left, an aunt serving in the Grave Stalker Mercenary unit, she made her way to the Marian Hegemony.
Lana was send to her aunt who paid for a place at the Bellorum since Lana wanted to become a Mechwarrior now.
The reason for this is revenge most likely but so far Cadet Taylor had shown nothing but dedication and a calm mind which sets her apart often from the other members of the Command Century.
Colones Warhawk, commander of the mercenary outfit, granted Cadet Taylor with an relativly modern machine, a Zeus-5S captured in the FedCom civil war.
The machine is in pristine condition due to the good tech support in this mercenary unit.

Prima Discipula Nadja “Gladiatrix” Vargas (Nadja Anastasia Brenshov-Damien)
DOB: 30.10.3050 (18 in 3069)
Homeplanet: Bryceland / Fed Suns
Nadja is one of the cadets at the Collegium Bellorum Imperium with a very special past and story.
Born a noble of House Davion. Turned Prisoner of war. Turned slave, turned pirate. Finally adopted into the prestigious family of Senator Janos Vargas.
Her parents served with House Davion's Chisholm Raiders during the 3062 incursion of Draconis March forces into the Draconis Combine.
The Davion unit took Marduk and was tasked with garrisoning the planet. Nadja's parents, Mechwarriors both, had taken Nadja with her after her expulsion from a Military School. Maybe the longest time she spend with her parents given their duties and a handicapped little brother.
The Draconis Combine retook the planet. Nadja became one the youngest war criminals of the 31st century as she took part in the defense of the Raider's compound,camps and dependebles in the chaos and heat of battle.
Nadja was wounded, the girl wrestled with the death for half a week. She was found guilty, sentenced to mining duty on Mica IV.
When pirates struck the secret mining colony and prisoner camp Nadja and some fellow POW's were captured and abducted deeper into the Periphery. They were taken to Antallos.
One of the captains leading the Vigilantes used parts of the prisoners for gladiatorial games, among them Nadja.
One day this captain did put his gladiators at stake in a gamble...and lost.
The new owner was the leader of a small mercenary outfit, pirates rather, the Black Death's Head Hussars and thus the girl became a Pirate and she earned her first own Mech, an old Stinger.
She took part in some minor raids and missions. One of these went horribly wrong as the Hussars landed on the Marian planet of Islington to gather water. Local troops attacked the unit.
Nadja was taken prisoner in that battle.
Made a slave again she was sold to the household of Consul Janos Vargas.
In his service she helped to spoil an assassination attempt on the Consul. For this the Senator adopted her and her best friend Sue, a social outcast from the Draconis Combine, now Sue Tertia Vargas, training to become a medic in the legions now.
The Consul knew that she had piloted a Mech, as a gladiatrix and a Pirate Scout, so he did send her to the Collegium to become a Mechwarrior.
She was granted a Mad-5R , a machine captured in the Black Warrior's raid on Alphard in early 3066.
On the Bellorum she worked hard to become a good Mechwarrior and if our sources are right it's this young woman's main goal, to become a famed Mechwarrior like Natasha Kerensky. Nadja was granted the command of a Cadet Manipel after a while.
She does lead from the front, fighting, learning and training with an almost self destructive zeal, paying back for the mercy of Senator Vargas with loyalty and courageous duty.
Fighting for the Cesar in the Johnston Revolt, defeating this traitor in his Highlander in a one on one duel.
She faced down rebels on Lummatii and took overall command of the cadet cohort during the Pirate Hunt on Thraxa after the commanding officer , Principe Mallory, had died.
