(Answered) Dual Wielding Weapons
« on: 01 February 2011, 10:21:25 »
Can a character with two single handed weapons make two attacks per simple action?

From AToW page 108, the Ambidextrous trait states:

Quote
Though this Trait allows the character to carry and use
a weapon equally well with either hand in combat, it does not
confer the ability to exceed the normal number of actions allowed
in a combat turn.

While in a recent answer to a question on this forum Herb stated:

Quote
In effect, the rules support two "Simple Actions" per 5-second combat turn, and an attack--melee or ranged--qualifies as a "Simple Action". This can either be done by one weapon in one hand, or by one weapon in each hand. The rules, as presented, leave this detail intentionally vague, for the benefit of playability and fun.

Thanks

Hello,

The answer as given does not clash with the written rules. The rules simply allow for a maximum of two Simple Actions, which may both be attacks. This could be two attacks using a weapon in one hand, or one attack by a weapon in each hand, for a total of two attacks.

Hopefully, that helps.
